Fuglsang happy at Leopard?
Rumours have begun to surface that Jakob Fuglsang is unhappy at Leopard and could perhaps be looking for a different team. This follows a heated debate between him and the team manager, Aidan van Niekerk, about 'his place in the team'. According to van Niekerk Fuglsang was signed with the purpose of being a domestique for the Schlecks, but this comment offended Jakob. He said,
"I'm not assured of my well being at this team, at least until they give me a chance to prove what I'm capable of."
Fuglsang has not discluded the fact that a move to his previous team, Saxobank, is possible.

Recently more and more rumours have come into the world stating that Pro Team Astana is trying to find a leader for the cobbled races in Flanders. "Our current leader for Flanders, Tomas Vaitkus is not strong enough to compete for wins", said their DS fcancellara in an interview on Kazakh national TV this morning, "so, I hereby confirm we started negotiations with HTC - Highroad". Most likely, as the team is looking for a leader that would be able to win some races, Astana is trying to sign Austrian Bernhard Eisel. We will keep you updated.
HTC decline offer from Astana
DS of HTC-Highroad, Abelbaba, has said he stopped negotiations with Pro Team Astana after they did an "uninteresting offer" for Bernie Eisel. Astana will most likely be looking for someone else now. If there are any teams willing to sell a cobble specialist, they should definately contact fcancellara now.

Peter Velits to Lampre?
A lot of rumours are going around that Lampre is interested in Peter Velits, the HTC rider. HTC recently gave the statement that they didn't want to sell anyone but people say the negotiations are being held!
Ballan is also rumoured as a new Lampre rider. The Italian cobbler would be a great addition to the Lampre team, who definitely needs a good cobbler and a good leader to make the team complete! |

O'Grady switches places with Masciarelli
It seems like Pro Team Astana's squad for next season is finished: today was announced that they have signed a leader for the cobbled races, namely Stuart O'Grady of Team Leopard - Trek. This sure wasn't an easy transfer, because Astana had to let Francesco Masciarelli go, and pay Leopard 12k.
Still, the DS of Astana, fcancellara, said he was very happy with this transfer.

Quickstep Getting Ignored
3 times Quickstep have gone in on riders. 3 times those riders have been sold without Quickstep being negotiated with. 3 times Quickstep were willing to pay more than what was agreed.
Having brought in 15 riders now you'd think TMM would be happy. Wrong. Quickstep are still hunting for another rider. They are currently in complicated negotiations with Katusha and are waiting negotiations with Rabobank and HTC.

Quickstep All Transferred Out
TMM has announced that Quickstep are no longer in the transfer market. He is overjoyed with the squad he has assembled for the 2011 season.
The full list of signings (as of now) are; JJ Haedo, Millar, Tosatto, Leipheimer, Greipel, Blythe, Ghyselinck, Smukulis, Fairly, Morkov, Hernandez, Lang, Seiberg, Flecha, Roelandts, Fischer and Langeveld.
But a fair few riders have left the team; Cataldo, Engels, Malacarne, de Weert, Devenyns, de Maar, Chicci, Seeldraeyers, Pineau and Bandiera
There are no more targets or planned transfers for Quickstep, but TMM is clear to point out that the right offer may entice him back into the market

AG2R ANGER AT SAXOBANK
AG2R Manager, Steve Moore is outrage today at Saxobank for announcing the signing of Jean-Christophe PĂ©raud on their website today.
Moore admitted that they were in discussions with Saxobank over the future of Peraud, however, the deal had not been finalised.
"There is no way we would make a final agreement over letting a rider of (Peraud's) quality go without having brought in a replacement first. Whilst a fee was agreed in principle, I was not willing to leave a hole of that size in our roster with no certainty of a replacement. It is safe to say I am ultimately extremely angry with the way Saxobank have conducted themselves."
It remains to be seen what course of action Moore will take but possible action includes refusing to do further business with Saxobank, instruction his riders to break unwritten codes of conduct on the road if Saxobank riders come into trouble or even reigning back and cancelling the Peraud deal itself. |

Vacansoleil Done With Transfer Season Already?
Pinktay3, manager of Vacansoleil, has reportedly said to his friend and Cyclingnews.com reporter that 'We may already be finished with this seasons transfer' Despite the 'lack of strength' discussions had within the board, Pinktay3 seems adamant that this will not affect his judgement and decisions in the market in anyway. |
