How to play your own stages?
sammyt93
i don't think they do need the "v" in teh suffix because teh world championship variants that came with the game don't have a "v" in the suffix and refer to a specific year so it should be teh same with any stages you've made/ downloaded.

EDIT: sorry mate must have misread what you put, and no it doesn't because i've got a variant for the tour de france i downloaded with _roturn as the suffix and it still shows up it stage race and stage modes.

Also the Variants named to specific year e.g. "top_tdf_stagenumber_2012" will appear a few years later again or can they just used for this one year?

Sorry, this is a lot of asking^^

sammyt93
they can be used any year that doesn't have a year specified except for the year after it.

e.g. if you have "top_tdf_stagenumber_2014" then it can't be in 2015, will definately be in 2014 and can be any year other then those 2 that doesn't have a variant with that year as the suffix.

Thanks for your help.

no worries mate, and don't worry about asking lots of questions, you won't find out if you don't ask Wink

And here's the next question. Just downloaded the Skoda-Tour de Luxembourg made by Pellizotti2. I'd looked into the DB, the gene_sz_filename is "t0_luxembourg", so changed the stages to this prefix while deleting the existing cyanide-(cdx)stages. But the game doesn't recognize the new stages. What did I wrong?

Did you add a suffix, normally 2012 in cases like this (where it isn't a variant)? Btw, there's no need to delete the .cdx files as well.. in fact the easiest would be to copy the .cdx file names and paste them in the stage files Pfft

Oh my, what a huge mistake^^. Called the Stagenumbers without the "0", so instead of t0_luxembourg_01_2012, I called it t0_luxembourg_1_2012. But thanks for your help, this brought me in the right direction.

If you want videos, you can find several on youtube:
https://www.youtube.com/results?search...0...1ac.1.

Searching around you can also find written tutorials, such as this one:

Thank you, but there are anyone about pcm 2012

Pellizotti2
The stage editor hasn't changed much since PCM10, so those guides work fine for PCM12 too. Wink

But i don't use the editor of the game, because it s impossible to add our own stages.I use Fast Editor and it s a little different and I very difficulties to work with it.
When I m in the game with the stage ready to play, appears to me the classique plouay-plouay

bigggassi
I hope I understand you correctly. You had made some new stages with the editor and want to play/test them now? But when you trying to play these all stages are the classique plouay-plouay?

If this is right, than you might take a look on the filenames of your stages. Make sure you name them the right way and take care on the stagenumbers. Single stagenumbers must have always a "0" before the numbers of 1-9.

pfarlfc
I name the filenames as i like.
What is wrong?

bigggassi
Maybe you can be a little bit more precise here.

For which race made your stages?
How did you name your created stages?
Where did you placed your created stages on your pc?

pfarlfc
1-I create a race( classque)
2-Alpe du Pedro
3-Cm stages

bigggassi
So this is an entirely new (fantasy)-one-day-race you created there?

yes

If you're seeing Plouay - Ploauy, the game can't find the stages: 1) either they're not placed in CM_Stages; 2) they're named incorrectly.

The stages should be named like this (if it's a stage race):
"[gene_sz_filename from STA_race]_[01/02/etc]_2012[or another suffix if it's a variant]"
So for example, if you gene_sz_filename is "alpepedro", they should be named:
"alpepedro_01_2012"
"alpepedro_02_2012"
and so on.
