I heard from the Swedish commentators that the team forgot the bike and then realized it too late. When they returned, the man was gone along with the bike. They thought that he had stolen it, but apparently he simply took care of it when he realized that they'd forgot it.
I think I heard that he returned it to the team after that stage had finished.

Very honest of the guy to do that, but if it was me the bike would be pride of place in my garage by now
