I like these kinds of lists Smile

I won't rank them, but I'll put them in groups.

Group 1:
Paolo Bettini
Tom Boonen
Alberto Contador
Alejandro Valverde
Fabian Cancellara
Oscar Freire

Group 2:
Alexandre Vinokourov
Davide Rebellin
Lance Armstrong
Mark Cavendish
Damiano Cunego
Ivan Basso
Erik Zabel

Group 3:
Jan Ullrich
Alessandro Petacchi
Robbie McEwen
Danilo Di Luca
Carlos Sastre
Philippe Gilbert
Roberto Heras

Valverde and Contadope in the group over Armstrong and Ullrich? Good luck with that.

Anyway, my top 6.

1. Armstrong
2. Freire
3. McEwen
4. Boonen
5. Ullrich
6. Cavendish/ Cancellara
Many more names that have been listed above, but there are too many to list.
RIP Exxon Duke, David Veilleux, Double Feature, and Monster Energy

Well I think you have to have Armstrong and Contador. Aside from them though I would put:
Rodriguez
Boonen and Cancellara (because they have dominated the classics)
Voigt and Pate (may catch hate for this, but I think being the best domestiques in the world qualifies them)
Basso, Ullrich, Beloki (if Armstrong weren't around?)
Rebellin and Gilbert
Menchov (has been really consistent)
Hushovd
Valverde
Cavendish
Leipheimer and Hincapie (maybe not the best, but they have been fixtures in the sport)
Freire

7 TDF, then what. Given all the controversy about his 7 TDF victories, I could hardly call him the best cyclist of the last 12 years. See my points table on the previous page...

I think you can hardly measure talent, you never know where talent begins and hard work (or dope in some cases) start imo. Personally i see Schleck and Ullrich as the guys with the biggest natural talent (plus Sagan who has maybe biggest "raw power" given, he was breaking bikes in half at MTB often).
I'll be back

Guido Mukk
Still question was..last 12 years. Not last 2 years.
