The live ticker is a great idea. Do you report all stages like this or just time trials?
I really like this style as it makes the story unique.
34th is okay for you of course. You couldn`t expect anything in this stage.

Agreed - I would love to see the live ticker on all Nerz's reports! Great Idea.

@ roturn: Thanks, glad you like it. Indeed, I intended to report every race of Dominik like this, as I always thought a couple of screenshots might be too few to report a whole race.
@ laidbackmarc: That is a nice idea. I've already played a couple of race days further, but from P-N on, I'll do that. And the training schedule, I can post that of course earlier.
@ mresuperstar: Glad that you like the live ticker!

Hey guys,
I'm on my way to the second stage, which you'll be able to follow on the live ticker, just as yesterday.
But before that, I was asked to tell you a little about my training schedule. You already know the races I'll participate in. My schedule is of course customized on these races.
I made a little sketch for you, which illustrates the level of fitness that I want to reach at certain points of the season:
As you can see, my first peak isn't at the top level, but instead it's a little longer: It covers the races Paris – Nice, the Volta Ciclista a Catalunya and the Vuelta Ciclista al Pais Vasco.
Then I'll have a little break, but I don't stop training completely, because my second (shorter, but more intense) peak is the Tour de France.
I hope that you liked this brief insight in my personal training plan,
Wish me luck for today's stage,
Dominik

And this just keeps getting better!
Great idea of the ticker, in general this story is very unique , as said roturn, and that's great. Congratulations on this so far and keep it going!

@ lluuiiggii: Thanks a lot. I really appreciate all the great comments!
@ FreitasPCM: Great to hear. I guess that he'll have to wait a little for really good results, but you'll never know, eh?

2.1: Vuelta a Andalucia – Stage 2
Hello again from Andalucia. The second stage takes place today. Jaén, location of the time trial yesterday, is the starting city. The course leads the riders over 169 kms to Humiladero. Except for two mountain sprints in the last third of the race, it's mostly flat and a sprint finish is expected.
Km 4: The first riders attack. Among them is Jacopo Guarnieri. But it doesn't seem like they get away.
Km 8: Another try. Guarnieri is there again.
Km 18: Jacopo Guarnieri and his two companions are caught again.
Km 24: Now, a larger group tries to escape. And, do we see that correctly? It really seems like Dominik Nerz is among them!
Km 42: The group has now 1'10 advance. But the pack is still chasing...
Km 55: Dominik is back in the peloton again. A courageous. try nevertheless.
Km 62: Manuel Ortega (Andalucia) is the only one of the former escapees who could survive. He's soloing in front and has now about 2 minutes of advance.
Km 83: Tiziano Dall'Antonia sprints to a third place on the second intermediate sprint. Kevyn Ista is second. Ortega's advance is around 4 minutes now.
Km 97: Muravyev (RadioShack) and Hulsmans (Donckers Koffie) attacked and establish a one-minte lead to the pack. Ortega is only one minute further in front.
Km 118: First mountain sprint:
1. Dimitriy Muravyev
2. Kevin Hulsmans
3. Manuel Ortega
Km 121: Ortega is caught.
Km 126: Second mountain sprint:
1. Dimitriy Muravyev
2. Kevin Hulsmans
3. Yaroslav Popovych
Km 140: Everything is back together.
Km 163: Entering the last few kilometres, Dominik has problems keeping up with the high speed of the peloton. Meanwhile, Manuel Cardoso (RadioShack) is a little in front of the peloton, after he won the last intermediate sprint.
Km 165: Hunter pulls off the train for Robbie Mc Ewen, but Duque managed to slip in between them. Australian champion Heinrich Haussler is positioned on his left. No Liquigas rider is anywhere near the front.
Km 167: I have to correct myself. Somehow, Paolo Longo Borghini managed to get to the front. Leonardo Duque leads in front of Farrar and Haussler.
The Colombian seems to be in enormous shape, as he manages to hold on to his lead. Longo Borghini with a surprising
Dominik recovered a little and finishes within the peloton, as every Liquigas rider today.
Leonardo Duque continues his great season with his 5th win.
Result
1 | Leonardo Duque | Cofidis, le crédit en ligne | 3h57'16 | 2 | Heinrich Haussler | Team Garmin - Cervelo | s.t. | 3 | Robbie McEwen | Team RadioShack | s.t. | 4 | Tyler Farrar | Team Garmin – Cervelo | s.t. | 5 | Paolo Longo Borghini | Liquigas – Cannondale | s.t. | ... | 109 | Dominik Nerz | Liquigas – Cannondale | s.t. |
No changes in the GC
Dominik's comment
A mediocre stage for me today. I tried my legs in the first part of the stage, but didn't succeed to get into the break. Plus, I suffered a lot in the end. But I didn't plan to be in top shape by now, so that's not too bad.
And Paolo Longo Borghini did an amazing job in front. I really don't know from where he took the power for this effort.
Another flat stage is up tomorrow. I hope you stay tuned,
Dominik

A pity that all your attempts in the first kilometers didn`t work. But still a good stage for you.
Very nice to read. |

@ lluuiiggii & roturn: Thank you. I didn't expect that eresult so i was quite pleased, too. As I haven't got the top sprinters here, I will continue to try it in breakaways.

2.1: Vuelta a Andalucia – Stage 3
The last nearly completely flat stage after the two hilly-classified ones that will probably bring the decision. Dominik told us that he was instructed to help Paolo Longo Borghini and Tiziano Dall'Antonia, so probably no breakaway try from him today.
Km 0: First rider to attack is Bartolomiej Matysiak from the CCC Polsat team. He's followed by a couple of other riders.
Km 15: The only remaining escapee, Tiago Silva (Funvic) comes in first on top of the mountain.
Km 25: A large group tries to break free...
Km 30: … but doesn't succeed. The peloton doesn't seem to be willing to let bigger groups go here in Andalucia.
Km 48: I'm proven wrong: A 13-men group has an advance of about one and a half minutes. But as neither a Cofidis- nor a Garmin- or RadioShack-rider is in there, I doubt they have any chances.
Km 65: On the first intermediate sprint, the pack is 4 minutes behind.
Km 73: Dominik takes his role seriously: We can see him bringing water bottles to the other riders.
Km 101: Cofidis overtook the lead in the peloton: Consequently, the advance is decreasing.
Km 144: With their advance being under a minute, some riders attack from the leading group. Doesn't seem too convincing, though.
Km 151: The german team NetApp is doing the pace now. A little strange, as they have no really good sprinter. But we'll see...
Km 161: Javer Ramirez Abeja (Andalucia) is the last escapee, that is caught. On the right side, you can see RadioShack leading out McEwen. Jacopo Guarnieri and Tiziano Dall'Antonia are a little back in the same train. Tyler Farrar is there, too.
Km 168: Under the flamme rouge, McEwen is still in the lead, but Duque, Farrar and Dall'Antonia are closing up fast.
The Colombian Leonardo Duque is just amazing at the moment. He sprints out the others, taking his seconds stage win in a row. Dall'Antonia with a respectable fourth place. Dominik comes in with the pack again.
Leonardo Duque is one of the most impressive riders at the moment.
Result
1 | Leonardo Duque | Cofidis, le crédit en ligne | 3h50'45 | 2 | Tyler Farrar | Team Garmin - Cervelo | s.t. | 3 | Robbie McEwen | Team RadioShack | s.t. | 4 | Tiziano Dall'Antonia | Liquigas - Cannondale | s.t. | 5 | Kevyn Ista | Cofidis, le crédit en ligne | s.t. | ... | 89 | Dominik Nerz | Liquigas – Cannondale | s.t. |
No changes in the GC
Dominik's comment
An unspectacular day for me. I had no problems to keep up with the pack, and the DS was satisfied with my helping services.
The fourth place from Tiziano is a nice result. The second Top-5 result in a row. And he proved to be in good shape for the upcoming hills. With Jacopo Guarnieri, we even had a second rider in the Top-10.
Tomorrow will be much harder. Let's see what I can do then.
So far,
Dominik
P.S.: A squad around Vicenzo Nibali started the Giro di Sardegna today. I will tell you more about it when I'm back home again.

2.1: Vuelta a Andalucia – Stage 4
Today's stage could bring the first changes in the GC. Dominik told us that he's quite optimistic for today, but also that he again will have to help Tiziano Dall'Antonia, as he aims for a better position in the GC.
Km 3: Two early mountain sprints tease many riders to attack. One of them is Yaroslav Popovych, the main overall contender, who seems to be interested in the KoM-jersey as well.
Km 11: Michael Reihs (Christina Watches) was first on both sprints and is now the provisional mountain leader. He leads the race together with yesterday's escapee Ramirez Abeja (Andalucia).
Km 27: A couple of riders try to bridge the gap to the leaders...
Km 38: … 6 riders build a chasing group now. They have about 1'40 to the peloton. Most notable is Kevin Hulsmans (Donckers Koffie), but all the escapees are within 45 seconds to the leader.
Km 82: Reihs collects more mountain points and extends his lead. Seven riders lead the race now with an advance of 4 minutes.
Km 103: Facing the last climb, the escapees have only 2 minutes of advance left. The Liquigas team is still complete in the peloton.
Km 119: Jesus del Nero (NetApp) tries his luck. NetApp did a lot of work in the last days, so he seems to have a rather good shape.
Km 121: Leonardo Duque attacks, followed by Johan Van Summeren.
Km 128: Tiziano Dall'Antonia, together with Heinrich Haussler, bridges the gap.
Km 140: With 22 km to go, a group of four has an advance of about a minute to the pack. It consists of: Heinrich Haussler, Johan Van Summeren (both Garmin), Leonardo Duque (Cofidis) and Tiziano Dall'Antonia.
Km 152: With ten kilometres to go, the pack is still a minute behind. A couple of riders attack from the pack, among them Paolo Longo Borghini.
Km 158: Four kilometres left: The group around Tiziano Dall'Antonia is still in front, but this group with Martijn Maaskant (Garmin) and Longo Borghini is still chasing them...
Km 162: Duque remains unstoppable. He wins in front of Van Summeren. Tiziano Dall'Antonia was tired and finishes fourth.
Km 162: Longo Borghini finishes 8th, but still in front of the pack, in which Dominik Nerz is present.
Who can stop this guy?

General Classification
1 | Heinrich Haussler | Team Garmin - Cervelo | 12h03'28 | 2 | Leonardo Duque | Cofidis, le crédit en ligne | + 3 | 3 | Johan Van Summeren | Team Garmin - Cervelo | + 11 | 4 | Tiziano Dall'Antonia | Liquigas - Cannondale | + 18 | 5 | Martijn Maaskant | Team Garmin - Cervelo | + 44 | ... | 32 | Dominik Nerz | Liquigas – Cannondale | + 1'39 |
Dominik's comment
The high flyer of this stage race is clearly a Colombian. Leonardo Duque performs outstandingly here, it's just his pity that there are no time boni. Therefore, Heinrich Haussler leads, due to his better time trial result.
Regarding our team, we can be really happy with Tiziano's result today. A Top-5 would be a great result, I hope we can retain that tomorrow.
Again, I'm pleased with my performance. Of course, the stage wasn't too selective, nevertheless my legs were good and I hadn't any problems.
I hope you'll be with us tomorrow again,
Dominik

Wow, Duque is really doing great here. But also Dall'Antonia is doing very well for Liquigas, nice.
Btw, on stage 3, the winner of the KoM sprint was Tiago Silva (a Brazilian so that's why I noticed this =P) riding for a Brazilian team (Funvic), but in the first pic of the same stage of the same stage there's a rider wearing the São Jose dos Campos shirt (the yellow one), so was just wondering whether there were two Brazilian or one with the wrong shirt (which is what I guess).

I really wish you hadn't done a One-Rider story, because I was hoping I could win!
But clearly I wont now, and I'm not angry, this is a compliment. This will win the award for sure.
