GP la Marseilaisse
My Plan: My hopes for this stage are to help my leader, Kern and if it comes down to a mass sprint at the end, I think I can help out Arashiro, if my legs aren't screaming too much.
Early on Cyril Gautier attacked. In fact only 10km into the stage. No one else could follow his attack and he was left alone, but the peloton initially saw him as a threat and chased him back, but as soon as he "returned" he attacked oncemore. Unable to bring along any other riders he was alone again, just as the road went up.
Because of this incline Gautier was able to increase his gap to the peloton and eventually he gained 2 minutes on the pack.
Meanwhile on the longest hill of the day at the middle point of the stage, I was struggling. My legs weren't used to this speed on a hill like this, and I began to fall back. On the very long descent I managed to bring myself back to the peleton, however.
The main group turned on the jets to try and reach Gautier, but he was riding on an extra gear, and was even pulling away with 5km to go. I guess at that point the bunch gave up on 1st place and just began to think about finishing 2nd.
Gautier crossed the line in first place. An absolutely fantastic victory, for him, and the first of the season for our team.
And in the sprint for second place, Kern placed third, rounding out a great race for Europcar.

My main worries for this race will be someone like Stefan Schumacher and also Sobrino in the sprints. Other than that, its quite obvious Team Sky came here to win with some very strong riders. They don't have a major GC threat though so maybe Voeckler can win, it, as he's one of the top favourites.

Thanks everyone. That was one of my favourite stages to play on PCM10 ever. Just the way I was able to attack away from the peloton and then to get one of those "emotional" wins like Haussler in the 09 Tour.
And I should be able to get another stage up tonight (very early tommorow morning for those in EU) as I have a hockey game tonight. It might be my last game if we lose, so wish me luck that my team can win and then we might make it to the finals.

Tour of Oman Stage 1
My Plan: My plan for this stage is to stay out of danger. I may be needed for the sprint train, and I may also be needed for the mountain stage for my leaders, Voeckler and Kern. The DS has already told me I will have a chance at a breakaway, but he told me, not on the first day, because the sprint teams will be eager to get a victory.
Today the heat realyl affected us, and we got lots of water in.
I carefully rode in the bunch with most of my team-mates. Arashiro, was protected from the wind all day long, but he already said he didn't want anyone protecting him because he was out of form. The DS said to protect him anyway.
Like expected it came down to a mass sprint. Arashiro charged for the line, while Chavanel had picked the wrong wheel, putting the whole sprint in jeopardy.
In the end, Ben Swift won the stage. But I was pleased with my own performance.

Fantastic Result in Mediteranean
Pierre Rolland has given Europcar its best result of the season. He climbed his way up Mt. Faron to finish 2nd on the last stage of the Tour de Mediteraneen 30 seconds behind countryman Moncoutie of Cofidis, but Rolland also won the General Classification 31 seconds ahead of Moncoutie. Rolland is very thrilled, and hopes its a sign of things to come.

Tour of Oman Stage 2
My Plan: Today I was told I would be the free rider on the team. That meant if there was a strong break, I would join. I had to cover attacks from possible GC threats.
And guess what happened today? I got in the BOTD. And it was a good day for it as the temperature was 25C rather than yestersays 39C, thanks in large part to the overcast skies today.
Unfortunately the BOTD was caught with 5km left. After a strong attack with 8km left, I decided to glance back and see if anyone was following me, but I literally saw up Jeremy Hunt's nose, and thats when I knew it was over.
But Kern still had enough energy to try an attack with 4km to the line. He got a nice gap and only Stef Schumacher could follow. But they were passed inside 1km, by the sprinters.
And from this angle it looks like Swift won from a breakaway, but he didn't, it just looks that way. He should have recieved a time-gap but we wont complain.

Tour of Oman Stage 3
My Plan: So its the final flat stage before the decisive mountain and time trial stages, so I hope to stay out of trouble, but more importantly keep Kern and Tommy out of trouble. We want a sprint today.
We see a break. Normal for a long flat stage like today, and like 80% of the time they were brought back in the final 20km of the stage.
I was unable to see, just how the sprint unfolded because I was at the back with Voeckler and Kern, but the result was great. No one can beat Swift so a 3rd place and 5th place on the stage is very good.

Thanks! Voeckler is our best rider but Kern is in much better shape so we'll see, who wins it. And I hope for that too, but Veilleux will probably be needed for the climb to help Voeckler/Kern.
