then keep on pushing REALLY hard, there were about 3 hills to go. The pack blows. The chase is reduced to 12 guys. Then Porte is out of energy and gets dropped. Just andy and flugsang. Andy is helping to push at 65 and flugsang at 78.
The time is reducing, but slowly. 20km to go and sanchez has 4'30'' on.
Andy needs to drop all the others and keep on a strong pace.
Just one other rider managed to go with him. On the last climb Andy is already out of energy, but he putted 3' of advantage on the chase. He still crosses the line 4 minutes after sanchez. poor of me. Lost the points and yellow jersey.
i had a similar problem in my old saxo carreer. Basso attacked on the last mountain stage and gained 14 minutes even though my whole team was chasing at 90%. |

Last stage of Paris- Nice it had been a poor Paris Nice for my Liqiugas team, so i attacked towards the bottom of the col D'Eze in hope I will get a stage win but with 300m to the line Kreuziger was caught by the chasing group of 52 riders and finished 22nd. FML  .

2010 Giro: Tony Martin came 3rd 4 minutes behind Nibali and then Cunego. The next year Tony Martin came 2nd +3 seconds behind Cunego after beating him by 1min 30 in the final TT.
Then 2012 Giro I came 3rd with Richie Porte (+16minutes), 4th Lofkvist (+18) and 9th Rujano (+24) behind Ricco and Cunego.
So frustrating! Get a few stage wins but just can't get there!

I think I have to dig this one up again...
I was in Tour of Oman and my goal was to get a few stage wins with Goss and clinch everything in the 25km TT in the last stage with Dekker. I saw that Cance was in the starting lineup, but I though that he wouldn't be that much of a problem since he probably wasn't gonna be in shape.
Guess what happens; Even though Saxo Bank has Napolitano, Haedo plus several others who can sprint, who do they ride for in the sprint? Cancellara! Usually that isn't a problem, but Cancellara must have had a form of 120 because he outsprinted Goss, Napolitano, Hushovd and just about everyone else...
Cance won 4 sprints + the last TT. I didn't come to far behind with Dekker, but I would have won it if it hadn't been for the 1:20 he picked up due to bonus seconds! |

Clicked the thread seeing there was a new post, read the first post of the page (the quote part) and remembered the episode where I was racing RvV (single race mode) with US Postal in vintage 03 DB (btw, I think it happened in PCM 09, not sure). Museeuw attacked with 110! kms left, I initially took that as a joke, but soon his advantage was higher than a minute and so I joined the high chase. With 50 km the 'peloton' had only 5 guys or so, result of the damn hard chase that happened, and Museeuw was 4' in front. He held on to win by more than 3 minutes, Van Petegem 2nd, I guess I got 5th with Hincapie, almost 6 min behind the winner.
Way too nonsense =P

Just had my worst experience with PCM2010 so far... In my 2. season with SaxoBank i had Contador in GREAT shape for the tdf, and with 1 mountain stage, 1 tt and the legendary Champs'elysees stage left, i was certain to win... Then, with only a few km left at the 4th last stage, A Leopard rider falls, and drags Contador down with him, and woops, Condador had broken his leg... F*** i got mad...

Taaramae crashed on an early stage of the Paris Nice, afterwards he was losing time on every stage so on stages 7 and 8 I decided to try and win the KOM jersey, During stage 7 I managed to collect all KOM points and on stage 8 I managed to collect all KOM points up until the final climb were Taaramae ran out of energy, Fuglsang went on to win the KOM points and the jersey, I was gutted

Damn. I finished 2nd in Flanders, winning the sprint in the chasing group with more than one bike lenght. In the final results i was 5th.  |
