The four year winning streak came to an end for Valverde. He was beaten up his favourite climb of the year by someone who could very well turn out to be his heir apparent, Alaphilippe. Vanendert was a surprise third place finisher, ahead of more illustrious rivals.
All but one member had Valverde among their picks. That same member also did not pick Alaphilippe, along with two others. No one had picked Vanendert to get a podium. The 10 (!!) members who did have the Valverde - Alaphilippe combination pick up the tied win in this race. trekbmc and Selwink had only Valverde, while Croatia had neither.

The top two remain the same. df_Trek moves up ahead of Selwink and into 3rd place. Behind them, the gap between all participants remain the same except for trekbmc losing some ground to those above him.
