Horrible rider for Hesjedal. sSad to see him out of GC contention so early.
Edit: What the hell happened to Phinney?
Yes, because Hesjedal is completely out of it now that he is way down in 6th place.
Phinney is recovering from a sickness.
I doubt he's going to beat Nibali being down 2 minutes on him already.
Don't forget Nibali always has 1 lesser day in a GT and Hesjedal is awesome in the 3rd week. Hesjedal has the best recuperation from all GT contenders here |

hesjedal 37:03 1:11:22 => 34:19
santambrogio 38:04 1:13:23 => 35:19
so basically Nibali's moral win is based on the technical 1st part. In the 2nd part he's pretty much same as all other contenders
where did you (or someone else) find the split times of such riders as Sanchez, Pozzovivo and Santambrogio?
someone found a link in the giro site with all the split times (but with horrible layout)
The links all ended with .json I think, but I lost them now. They are probably somewhere in my Chrome history |

It much depends on Nibbles after here. If he want's to win, he can't fail. Hesjedal, Evans, even Wiggins should be able to shake him. Wiggins with his train, not Wiggins himself ofc. |

Don't think enough has been said about the ride of Dowsett and Durbridge. I know for a fact that the course did no way in hell suit Durbridge, but to finish infront of Cadel shows what a fantastic ride it was.
The next couple of weeks are key for Sky. We have seen them ride defensively and whittle down the other contenders when they had the leaders jersey, now they have to come from behind. Wonder how they are going to play it.
Have to agree, Dowsett had a pretty special day and all kudos to him. Durbridge was not a surprise at all, they guy will be a beast in the TT within a season or 2

Wiggins TT was even worse than you would anticipate. The wind got a lot stronger during the last hour. Evans explained so and therefore Wiggins actually had better weather conditions but still flopped.
There is no way he is winning this Giro. I will say even top 10 is a longshot for him. He will crumble in the mountains in this shape.

Nibali really worked on his TT apparently.
I doubt he got better though. He gained nearly all of his time in the first technical part.
On the flat 2nd part he did 2 seconds better than Gesink, but 10 seconds worse than Scarponi and +1 min worse then the best (Dowsett and then wiggins).
Actually, on the flat 2nd part, Scarponi, Evans, Gesink, Nibali, etc were all pretty close. Only Wiggins significantly better and Hesjedal significantly worse. |

Chalapud has 9 points already aswell and Golas might sprint for the points aswell as he wore the blue jersey last year.

Garate is in a great shape, so I think he has a good chance to win.
Guess who's back?
Lets see how many friens are still around...

There seems to be massive storm in Firenze.
Break also not given mroe than 3 minutes.
Today might be epic stage, and the day Wiggins looses Giro altogether.

Wiggins: "Let's be honest....I descended like a girl....not to disrespect girls...."
He also said he's in a great form looking at his numbers and will hopefully show it especially in last week.

All he and Froome do is look at their numbers.
