Nuyens was a big surprise.
Sadly not a good one, like a new chainset, but a bad one, like a new STD. |

Great race... And nice for Saxo Bank to be able to still win these types of races

By seeing how strong Cance was, I think the tactic he used was the only one which could make him not win xD
Team Europcar !!

Flecha should not be leading for them next year and G should not be concentrating on the track next year.
It depends in what Gez does in P-R. IMO, Flecha will have better results in that race than Thomas. Nevertheless, I'm hoping he can get a top-10. |

I watched the last 20 kilometres. Great race.
Nice win for Nuyens and a great performance from Staf Scheirlinckx.

Well, for sure that was a great race - in fact, one of the many great races so far this season. Even though I supported Gilbert after his attack and that I placed my fantasy bet on Cancellara, I'm pretty happy Nuyens won. He may not have shown that much during the race, but therefore was one of the freshest guys left. Saxo Bank is clearly not as "weak" as some people expected, while Garmin-CĂ©rvelo really failed - they had all the possibilities to chase down the break, but didn't. Great race, congrats to Nuyens. |

What a race. Chavanel was amazing, too bad he didn't win, but at least we had a fantastic race, I thought all was decided when Spartacus caught Chavanel. Nuyens isn't exactly my favourite rider, but seeing a Flemish winning De Ronde is always special. All in all, great racing, can't wait for the Hell of the North.
Oh, and Vaughters should decrease the difficulty level. He can't win in extreme.

I don't know about that. Part of me wants to hail him for kicking critics in the face (having won more than once must mean it's not a fluke), and I enjoy watching SBS winning with someone else than their stars from the past 3-4 years (who are almost all gone).
And on the other hand: I'm afraid that Nuyens' ego could become too big for his brain to handle. Maybe he'll explode? |

Best race of the year, no doubt. What a race.
Ps.: who said radios make races boring and stuff like that?
Cancellara ups and downs, attack with 43 km left, getting Chavanel, doing the work alone until the Kapelmuur, they both 'caught' on the Kapelmuur, Cance accelerates on the 20%, Chavanel awesomely follows, other follows, Gilbert attacks on Bosberg, Cance struggling a lot, Chavanel again proving to be really strong today, Cance back to the front, big group all together with 5km left, Cance goes for his last chance, Chavanel finally cooperates, Boonen attacks, Chavanel blocked, Nuyens wins, what a race!!
But damn I was hoping for Cancellara to solo it, show he can win with no 'change of bikes'.
Awesome race, no more words...

I loved it when Cancellara had just got away, and Vaughters told all of them to stop riding. For a guy who campagins so hard for race radios, his team would do an awful lot better without his ego in their ear. |

Sure, but at least his stupidity on that payed off really bad for him in the end.
Garmin - Cervelo fail of the year, so far

I don't really care who wins, the only thing that matters to me is that it isn't decided before the Muur, I hope there are still a small bunch of riders with a chance at that point.
Worst case scenario would be Cancellara attacking early and winning by 6 minutes.
I was worried for a while, but now I'm happy. Really interesting to watch and I didn't really mind Nuyens winning it in the end. Now I just hope that Paris - Roubaix isn't decided early like last year either. |
