Sigh... Chamorro is just too inconsistent to get a podium even in a "low-competition" CT.2 race... Stage 4 was bad, just bad. If he finishes ahead of Figueiredo on stage 5 he's still 3rd in GC, but obviously no, not even that ^^
Guess we'll need a different GC leader if we ever want to promote, Juan just doesn't manage to bring the big points in. Really disappointing tbh.

It's always sad to hear when other managers are disappointed with their captains.
My dev team once again failed to score a CT point or join a breakaway. The main team did a bit better, a nice 3rd place in the TTT in the Ardennes and with Cuming finally another rider in a breakaway and he even finished 4th in the KOM classification.

Well, it's not that I'd expect Chamorro to win every race, I'm definitely conscious of his flaws. But while he's been OK-ish in most of the races, he had some clear underperformances - and no real overperformance. That's what sucks most. I guess either there will be some heavy investment into his energy stats, or I'll switch to another GC leader.
And just to say, I'm really happy with Zabel as my sprint captain so far
(And with Gomez and Mendes as secondary leaders, given that they rather outperform their stats - but I can't expect the big wins from them)

Shame to lose the lead on the final day but 2-3-5 is a great team result. The climbing squad failing big time in Andorra though

had my mum visiting me in paris for the past few days so no time to do any results but now some results for berlin and suisse. Saguenay to come up soon too.
I am fairly disappointed with our triple header especially Bananito really screwed up royally and the supposed crash in the latter part didnt even hit that hard. Also Pulido won the u25 jersey but got really a beating in the GC, and VDP won a stage but then dropped hard in the GC and instead of getting a GC podium ended up with an also-ran Top 10. Hopefully this is not bad sign for the Tour to come. |

Have some catching up to do, so here I go:
Lecomte didn't start very well in the Valle d'Aosta with an eighth place on the first mountain stage, but at least put himself on the podium in GC with a third place one day later. Consistent results by domestique Brundby meant he was also ninth after three days, so quite decent. MAssive time loss on the fifth stage then by Lecomte, but still a fourth on the stage and in GC. Time trial didn't change anything anymore. You always hope for a win with a guy like Lecomte, but obviously that can't always be the case. Nice fourth place by Brundby in the time trial and just missing out of the top-10 is not too bad as a domestique I think.
Onto California then. Niemi missed out on the stage 1 sprint, but with that profile it's understandable. Nothing happened for us in stage two, so it was great to see the Finn redeemed himself with a stage podium a day later. Next sprint stages were a bit weaker again, with a sixth, eighth and sixth place. Von Folsach with an eighth place in the TT on stage 6 is not too shabby, but without breakaways we were unable to be relevant GC-wise.
Our other sprinter was active in the Fjords then, and Hoelgaard did okay with a third place on the first stage. The hilly stage didn't prove to be too problematic either, as he managed to stay in the peloton and finish fourth, and to be fair I can live with a ninth out of 17 in the TTT A shame Hoelgaard just missed out on the stage win in the final stage then. Big race for Liberty Seguros with 1-4 in GC.
Butenko with an 11th in Rutland-Melton is far from impressive, hoped his cb/spr skillset would be a bit more useful in races like this.
Also nice to see Wang saved the honour of the team in home race Copenhagen - Malmo time trial with a top-10 GP Luxembourg was a bit less, as Rahbek only managed to finish sixteenth. Still two decent young building stones for an okay TTT set-up in the future.
That our team is to weak for WT became very clear in Deutschland Tour, with our eight guys among the final twelve in stage 5 At least the heroic Von Folsach breakaway attempts lead to a fourth place on the final stage, an impressive 11th in the KoM and almost a top-100 in the GC
Consistent results from Lecomte against strong competition in Andorra leading to 38th in gC and 8th in U25, but had hoped to see him try sth in the breakaway.
Butenko with two top-10's in the Berlin flat stages in decent, but most importantly is Sundbaum's third in the time trial and second in GC atm. Hope he can hold on in the final two flat stages, although the last stage seems like it could be tricky.
As expected, nothing came out of the first six Suisse stages. Maybe Von Folsach can get in the break again and score some more KoM-points there

Did Peiffer get injured in the last two stages of Andorra? Can't believe him this year he's just never there, this race looked like a bit of a turnaround. Guess I actually have to do transfers this year unless the formulas feel like giving him a wage drop because he doesn't actually ride like his stats

Boily's form is definitely a bit below where I was hoping for, but as always, Bennett comes to the rescue with a stage win.

Not really impressed by most of the lads...
Ollero was sent to Berlin because of the TT, where on paper he's one of the best U23 guys. But I'll admit that I simply forgot about PCM15's TT randomness. It's gonna be another disappointing race by the youngsters, unless the sprinters deliver big time on the final stages.
Tour de Suisse is the first really disappointing race by Zabel. He only showed up one single time so far, which clearly isn't enough. Also seems to be due to some surprising AI behavior when looking at the results, though.
In terms of GC, Gomez definitely has been sub-par so far. On the other hand, what a ride by Biró! 9th in the GC, with a commanding lead in the U25 standings - although both are unlikely to hold, it's a good sign of life by a rider who declined last offseason!

Dev team is giving us some respectable results that are missing with the main team.
Jorritsma 2nd place in the TT is very good, hopefully he can keep the podium spot till the end.

Great back half for us in Suisse. Boily stepped up big time in the final third to get into the top 10 after some bad losses earlier. And what a stunning victory by Butler on stage 9! It always feels good to win, and I imagine that kind of escape and narrow victory would be pretty memorable.
Only thing that sucks is that Bennett lost the point jersey by a single point! Ouch!

Well, the team took some really bad decisions in Switzerland. Until stage 8, it looks like everyone was riding for Biró - who did a great job, no doubt about it - only to leave him all alone and even lose the white jersey on the final stage. Gomez should definitely have finished higher than 11th, but after a great performance earlier in the year I can live with that.
Still, 3 riders between 11th to 16th means that we had the potential to get one higher result than 11th, given that we didn' support the same rider every day.
The 2nd place by Brus on the final stage was a nice surprise, and it also came with a nice 3rd place in the KoM. Winning the team standings adds a couple of very welcome points, and probably compensates for Zabel's sub-par performances. Not a bad TdS, but definitely not a great one, either.
Saguenay then was the first race where Espionsa really lived up to his billing, starting with a 3rd place, then a low finish on stage 2, bouncing back with 5th on the last day. Which in total also results in 5th place in the GC, which is clearly a nice surprise here!

Also Cruz winning Berlin points jersey. I have to admit I had to re-do Berlin as one of stages was faulty & did not properly export the results, and Cruz also won the points jersey back then in that first run so happy to have seen him take it again.

Oops, I have to admit that I somehow missed Berlin... Indeed, that was a great race by our Cuban, definitely making a strong case for a main team spot next year!
Ollero was a tad too low, but I guess with PCM's TT AI we'll have to be content with a Top10, given that he is our only capable TTer ^^

Catching up with the dev team who are focused on cobbles and TT,
Great to see Jonathan Wright winning the TT and the overall in Berlin.
12th and 13th GC is a decent result for our classics guys at Saguenay.
Thanks for the reports Shonak.

Jorritsma 2nd in GC and Watsworth with no wins but solid results in every sprint stage, dev has definitely his dimension, I'm very satisfied.
With some very young guys hopefully it will continue in the future.

My main team has had a bit of a lull in the racing schedule allowing the riders some rest to go at it again when we're back in action!
The younger guys have been in action but no results to speak of recently. Hopefully we become a bit more active in picking some lucky breakaways!

A couple of stage wins for Carter - though I'm not thrilled that one of those stages, stage 3 of Saguenay, didn't award any points or bonus seconds, preventing a decent GC result.
In Switzerland our leaderless team once again didn't join enough breakaways. But Martin Wagner, without any real result to speak of, managed to wear the green jersey for a day.

Good comeback by our Dev Team in Saguenay after a torrid Tour de Berlin. Herder back on track.
