Transfer Season 15/16

They didn't let Martin go. They offered him an extension and left it open for negotiation, and he flat out left. it's wasn't a mistake on their part.

Like I said, I don't see Garmin surviving at a WT level. Their top puncheur and 2nd or 3rd best climber is leaving, they have no sprinters, Langeveld has really done nothing in the classics, and least close to what he should. Their time trialing has been terrible, and their TTT squad went to crap.

They have a few nice talents but if any of them flop, Garmin are screwed.
RIP Exxon Duke, David Veilleux, Double Feature, and Monster Energy

They should try and get Sagan on board, as I'm sure if he left Tinkoff and had less pressure on him, he would finally get the big victories that everybody expects him to get, I know this is fantasy but he's the type of rider the team needs to kick then into life again.

Edit: Actually no. Fuck him. I hope he crashes just as much as he did with Garmin and wonders why his team support won't help him then. This is all good. Just more chances for Dombrowski to shine and get better leadership opportunities. Fuck traitors.

At least it's not Sky.

Sadly its not SKY! FUCK THIS! Now I don't like the whole ETixx squad anymore :/

cause Etixx is the only freaking team available on world tour circuit Rolling Eyes

But I love Etixx....

You love Etixx, but if Martin joins them, you hate Etixx?

it wouldn't make sense to hate etixx if martin comes since he would be a great addition for any team

Bad worded by me...sorry. I meant that until now, I supported ALL Etixx riders, now I don't support ALL anymore, since I dislike Dan. So if any Etixx rider wins, its great, but if Dan wins its meh.

This is one of the most stupid post I have ever read.
Looks like in category "blind fan troll mode hysteria."
Also Lance called ex team mates as traitors.
What is wrong with Garmin anyway..nice team..nice managment. Of corse not Sky budjet. Still they have been fighting to get any result..reminds me lot of Lampre..old team who is keep making weak transfer moves.

Garmin having a nice mangement, you mean one of the biggest hypocrites in cycling? Pfft
I'll be back

Wegelius who is the sportive boss is also completely clueless. Vaughters made a big mistake last year, he should've brought in Amadio, Zanatta and Scirea from Liquigas to run the sporting part of the team. They're great at what they do look at all the succes Liquigas had. They wouldn't have had such an awful year as they have now.

I'm not sure what Cannondale-Garmin are doing as a team. They let all their support for Langveld go in the cobble classics, which meant no presence in the cobble races and now have let the main classics man in Martin go.

Talansky might get on a GT podium if his form is good, but he's not as good this year as we was last year and has been overtaken by TVG as the top American GC man. Hesjedal's never going to repeat his Giro victory and is really now just going for stages.

Yeah maybe if he's given a 30 minutes headstart.

The most dutch of all dutch riders, Ten Dam, is about to leave LottoNL? https://www.cyclin...the-table/

Apparently he always wanted to race in the States towards the end of his career and due to the recent car crash, this just might be happening now. Three World Tours teams and some US squads are interested in him. Unknown if Cannondale is one of them.

that is a known fact of Ten Dam: he loves the US. he always said that he would love to race in an american team

also "most dutch of all dutch riders?" where did that come from?

He won the Dauphine in 2014 with great form in a race that both Froome and Contador were the favs, he was a contender for a podium at the Tour as well in 2014 until he crashed out, so yer as said when on form he could be podium material, his form has just dipped this year compared to 2014.

you want him to become a rider that stays forever with one team, never changing and become a rider with results like Gesink (perhaps bad example after this year) or Boogerd or insert dutch rider here because dutch rider usually are that stupid.

Yes.

Well hopefully he is making enough extra money to fix his teeth. I cant take a guy seriously who is a pro athlete and cant go to a dentist.

A change of team can be, a lot of times, for the better. Always riding for the same team and working with the same staff and teammates isn't always best. You could lose motivation, always doing the same things and your body will adapt to the rhytm. A fresh start at a new team means new experiences, new training methods, new teammates and will renew your motivation and keep you sharp.

I always notice that a lot of riders that leave Rabobank/Belkin/LottoNL have a great first season at their new team. While all the guys who stay at Rabobank forever (like Gesink) and many of the Dutch talents who didn't made it are getting worse.

Do you think froome was in form when he lost the dauphine in 2014 ? If he didn't had any illness after a couple of stages we wouldn't be talking about that. Talansky was just lucky enough to win the dauphine that year and it is very unlikely this will happen again even when in good form he's got his limit.

lol he was not a podium contender and never will be. Maybe in a weak field if he's lucky. He hasn't improved anything since 2012 even though he got leadership in every race he wanted.

Of course he was on form he destroyed the other riders in the first few stages but that's not the point I was making.

I was stating that Talansky has the potential to make a podium in a GT much like say Gesink or Kelderman, whether he or these riders ever do it only time will tell.

You must be crazy to think that talansky destroyed the other riders in the first few stages because he didn't even got a single stage win in the process. But explain me why since the dauphine he hasn't got a single good results other than top 10. He will only be able to get a top 3 in a weak field or when the best are out of form when he's in good form but other than that I don't see any luck for him to get to a podium level. Since 2013 he hasn't shown any progress whatsoever

You've completely misunderstood, I was referring to Froome and not Talansky.

Just to reiterate as well, I was saying that Talansky could be a podium contender in a Giro or Vuelta where the field is weaker and there's no reason why Cannondale-Garmin shouldn't prepare him with that in mind, he's still only 26. For example I always believed for years that Peraud was a podium contender but it never happened until the Tour of 2014.
