This 'attitude' makes for more fighting for position, more nervous riders and more crashes. |

I allude to the fact that BMC has been in the front the whole Tour. When you have such a attitude it decreases the chances of crashing or being held up.
and increasing falls behind you...
when you ride with 6 trains next to eachother
Again: it is and has become an even bigger part of the game.

I agree on the dangerous part, but you can't tell them to stop riding in the front. If you guys need to blame some one, blame Armstrong. |

WTF was up with Boeckmans there?

What a bad day/week for Garmin. The polka dot jersey is the only thing what they could win (with Dan Martin I think/hope). It's a shame that Hesjedal crashed, no we will not know if a giro - tour double is possible, or at least a good GC
Winners never quit, quitters never win.

His chain broke, a shame cause he would have finished very close

That was Marcato I think.

No it was Boeckmans, he gave an interview on belgium TV and told what happened in the sprint.

Ah that explains it. Unfortunate, a great opportunity for him.
Also, decisive I think, because it forced Greipel and Sagan to slow down and re-accelerate.
Sagan has the characteristics to do that, Greipel doesn't. You could see Greipel grimacing trying to get back up to speed, but no chance of that happening.
Sagan has the acceleration so he won it. Well won.

When I picked my manager team, I made a last-minute substitution, replacing Gesink with Nibali. Ruben wasn't too happy, but as I said back then, Gesink would crash out eventually anyway.
Well, half the peloton did today, not surprised Gesink was one of them |

Greipel had a dislocated shoulder, thankfully it 'popped back in, but his wrist was very swollen... He was lucky to even finish the stage.
"The first crash was really bad and he popped his shoulder out and it popped straight back in," Henderson told CW at the finish. "His wrist was also really swollen and he was like: ‘no I'm not sprinting, I'm not sprinting.'"
"I gave him ten minutes and I said: ‘you don't have to win. Just stay with us, we'll put you in position and you can run a top ten because then you get some points.' You could see him thinking, and then I got back on the radio again and I said, ‘righto, we're sprinting for Greipel again.'"

I think Danielson fell hard on his already dislocated shoulder again today. Looked a little gross. I feel bad for him...
Kudos for getting 2nd with that though Greipel. Now we know Sagan is not as fast as he seems, but still very fast

That's quite a story! I thought Griepel did an excellent job to grab second after those crashes but that makes it sound even more incredible |

Rabo has no servant for the flat stages anymore, since Wynants is out with a broken rib... |

If it makes you feel better, they don't have any leaders left to be served either

The fact that Poels and Freire had to abandon is by far not worst...
Poels has 3 fractured ribs, a ruptured spleen, a ruptured kidney, and bruised lungs. He will have to stay in the hospital for a while. After the crash he rode another few km, with all these injuries, but then team leader Daan Luijkx forced him to stop.
Freire has 1 fractured rib and a damaged lung, I don't have more information about him.
My sources are Danny Nelissen (Eurosport NL commentor) and nu.nl (most popular Dutch newssite)
Let's wish them a speedy recovery.
