Ian Butler - Stage 5 should sort the men from the boys Wink

Shonak
The amount of posts and races is unreal by now, just like your will and endurance to keep writing it. Congratulations to the Team Story of the year award (and Member of the year award too). Both is much, much deserved!

You should treat yourself with signing Geraint to Novo Nordisk. Wink

Durham didn't go as planned but I laughed at the Team Sky fail in the standings... Great win in Revolution!

Massive congrats on the awards! Thoroughly deserved Smile

TOUR OF JAPAN

i1025.photobucket.com/albums/y319/novo2013/2-048-1-TOUR%20OF%20JAPAN-STAGE%201/Japon_zpstruhrtso.gif

Stage 1 – Sakai (ITT) – 2.8km

i1025.photobucket.com/albums/y319/novo2013/2-048-1-TOUR%20OF%20JAPAN-STAGE%201/2-048-1PROFILE_zpsab88b3eb.jpg

THE STAGE

Our first rider to finish the short TT was Martijn Verschoor and he did it in 3m 42s to end the day in 41st position

i1025.photobucket.com/albums/y319/novo2013/2-048-1-TOUR%20OF%20JAPAN-STAGE%201/2-048-1-PIC001VERSCHOOR_zps5c899c56.jpg

Next was Oleksandr Sheydyk of ISD Continental Team who would fare slightly better with 3m 34s

i1025.photobucket.com/albums/y319/novo2013/2-048-1-TOUR%20OF%20JAPAN-STAGE%201/2-048-1-PIC003SHEYDYK_zps8eb1393d.jpg

We thought a short TT would suit the strength of Serebryakov, sadly we were wrong and he would end the day in 60th place

i1025.photobucket.com/albums/y319/novo2013/2-048-1-TOUR%20OF%20JAPAN-STAGE%201/2-048-1-PIC005SEREBRYAKOV_zpsd64bf2ad.jpg

Home favourite Masahiro Shinagawa of the Aisan Racing Team would also disappoint

i1025.photobucket.com/albums/y319/novo2013/2-048-1-TOUR%20OF%20JAPAN-STAGE%201/2-048-1-PIC007SHINAGAWA_zps7663d737.jpg

Irishman Matthew Brammeier of Champion System Pro Cycling Team would put in a decent effort

i1025.photobucket.com/albums/y319/novo2013/2-048-1-TOUR%20OF%20JAPAN-STAGE%201/2-048-1-PIC017BRAMMEIER_zps962bbc94.jpg

Then Domingos Gonçalves of Rádio Popular - Onda would storm around in 3m 25s to become the new leader

i1025.photobucket.com/albums/y319/novo2013/2-048-1-TOUR%20OF%20JAPAN-STAGE%201/2-048-1-PIC020GONCALVES_zpsc63df0ad.jpg

Carlos Oyarzun of Action Cycling Team then goes better again

i1025.photobucket.com/albums/y319/novo2013/2-048-1-TOUR%20OF%20JAPAN-STAGE%201/2-048-1-PIC022OYARZUN_zps16717170.jpg

The penultimate rider is Damien Monier of Bridgestone - Anchor

i1025.photobucket.com/albums/y319/novo2013/2-048-1-TOUR%20OF%20JAPAN-STAGE%201/2-048-1-PIC023MONIER_zpsa662391e.jpg

And the last is Vitaliy Popkov of ISD Continental Team, but can either of them pull off the win

i1025.photobucket.com/albums/y319/novo2013/2-048-1-TOUR%20OF%20JAPAN-STAGE%201/2-048-1-PIC024POPKOV_zps220d32aa.jpg

Well with no real time trial specialist amongst the team here in Japan we are satisfied with the outcome of the stage today

Ian Butler
Quiet day, only the beginning though Wink

Kiserlovski01
Nothing has happened with a gap of only 18s Wink

sutty68
Ian Butler - Yes indeed but at least the time gaps were small Wink

Kiserlovski01 - 18s means we are still challengers Wink

OZrocker
Congrats on the award wins sutty, you really deserve it! Grin

Back to the story, a great move from Ilesic certainly did the trick, now I'm hoping that Vegard might do the same and upset the favourites in Japan.

PS: I think Oyarzun is wearing a Chinese champion jersey instead of a Chilean one, not that it really matters Pfft

sutty68
OZrocker - Thanks for the congratulations Smile, Ilesic surprised me too with the way he rode and i never noticed the NC of Oyarzun because i never edited him at all Wink

THE STAGE

The first of our riders to attempt the Mountain time trial is Megias who finishes with a time of 26m 8s which would be good enough for 6th place on the stage
