Indeed terrible gap. That said a similar gap was given this TdF as well or Adobe years ago in giro and tour.
Nice "Adobe" autocorrection. (i suppose)
Not an 18minutes gap though, that is very rare, especially when a guy enters top5 after that. But yeah, it happens sometimes (Perreiro says hi), but i smell a dangerous tendency here with PCM14.

I think that some of the lower teams feared random internet forums taking the piss if they chased and their leaders failed
A slap in the face for shyte pack GC hopefuls. You look at names like Pozzovivo, Nibali both out of top 10, whilst Ricco is produding a wonderful Giro STILL leading. The chrono will likely see him slip out of lead but you never know.
This is always a risk I think with PCM with non MTF's. (or in fact in general in real GTs) that breaks get huge leeway with noone fancying going for GC.
For Red Bull it is simply a case of waiting for that final stage and trying to battle breakaway to pull it back for Guerao.

Total waste of a stage...
I'm joining the "we don't like PCM14 train here", ofc this is partly due to having a GC-leader with a sucky team, but come on!

Lost the KoM But another very decent result from Kononenko this time, that's 4 riders who've done very well so far, and perhaps Polivoda can get into the mix on the final stage too.

Are you f*****g kidding me? Twice this has happened, and we've missed the break both times. Pinot almost out of the U25 lead as well. |

Your team is doing very well in the Giro mate, i am proud to have such a partner in world of ukrainian cycling.
But Krasnoperov sucks so hard, i would not give him even 50k.

Nice to see Fernandez and Edwin Parra Bustamante finish in the main group and see Fernandez move up a bit in the GC. Would have been nice to see one of them in the breakaway today though. That 18 minute gap moving a rider into the Top 5 is utterly ridiculous.

Awful.
While Ricco's success has been great for SotD and Festina, I fear it has wrecked the race given how terrible Ricco's support is, and the way the AI relies on it. So much mountain strength in Vesuvio going to waste...
Fascinating TT ahead. Any of the Top 3 could end up as leader at the end of it, and certainly any of the Top 3 can still win the race.

Great succes! Sticking with both jerseys aswell as having Ricco still 2nd in the points competition is so amazing. I guess Madrazo will take the lead in the points competition after the TT, but with a bit of luck he will only be second. Cunego is getting dangerously close and should be a major threat in that aspect, by now, but on the positive side I really Wouldnt have believed that A) Tzortzakis would still be in the race and B) still having a shot at winning the points Jersey.
It all comes down to how the favorites ride the TT and the final mountain aswell as whether or not he and the others can survive the final mountainstage Where we are not in the lead to destroy the pace.
Gasparotto barely made it today, so I am a bit scared that he might not be in the race for the final stage.
I really love helping one of my favorite riders, Faiers, well into the top 10 by having a Real shit team here :-)

Great stuff, stage win and moving up to 10th in GC, hot pocket. The bizarre gameplay could fluke me a place in PT next year. What a result for Faiers as well!

58 man peloton on such a stage ? :/
I dont think something like that has ever happened in real, especially not so late in the race with guys getting so good GC-placings out of it.
Cool to see my team try it in the break, hoped for someone slightly stronger than Cuasquer though, as he only got 73 mt. Ablenado, Carapaz or maybe even Anton would have been so much better.
And I gotta add, off all the GC-guys to overhold Brajko in the GC, Faiers was the last one on my mind. Brilliant result for Pokerstars though!

Damn, Schleck is most under par of the 3, and Ricco still in the race lead to ruin another mountain stage.
Andy HAS to go on that steep climb mid-stage. Doesnt seem like a very AI thing to do, but here's hoping. And then, hopefully the break won't be too far away for some vital time bonuses.
Still, a fascinating race for the neutral.

Not sure how to feel about that, pink here would have helped...with Ricco in it I worry for the AI....great ride by Angel though, fair play my boy.
At least Top 10 for Ricco seems to be secured now

Well this was both good and bad really...
Obviously amazing to keep the Maglia Rosa, but it sucks that Madrazo wins the stage in terms of the points competition. I had hoped that the top TT'ers would take the top points. Also, I really hoped that Ricco could stay close to Cunego on the TT, but for some weird reason Cunego is just amazing in the TT's while Ricco isn't. The same applied for the mountains TT. Those riders are so extremely similar that I don't really get it. I can understand one time in bad form, but two times losing loads on Cunego is quite strange.
Andy Schleck had a real shit stage here, but still within striking distance.
Oh well, I guess I can begin to dream of that podium spot now.
Fingers are heavily crossed for two things. 1) Ricco will stay on the podium and 2) None of my riders drops out of the race.

Well, great TT by Brajko yet again(he's been awesome in TTs so far this season)
Top 5 looks secured, if not another 18m break-away is going to happen though. Hopefully we get some GC-action and not like that previous mt stage.
Odds on a break NOT taking the final mountain stage folks?

indeed it is, 3 in such a close gap before the last mountain stage is perfect
Kinda wish TdF was this close before Alpe d'Huez

Also, never thought Andy would come as high as 5th in a flat time trial and for it still to be legitimitely considered a disappointing and below par result
