Whatever they do, I hope they keep less TT, flat TT. May be hilly or mountain TT is ok. But less of flat TT. Even Prologue will be fine.
I heard there is long Team TT like 40-45kms, so I guess teams will have 1 or 2 dedicated time trialist next year. |

The Tour starts in England.

Cobbles are likely to be in next year's tour, as apparently they will be doing something to commemorate the First World War round Ypres etc where the cobbles are.

About time that great climb is used again. I'd like to see a Galibier finish again, about time Alpe d'Huez was chucked away for a few yrs me thinks.
We've only had the Alpe 3 (well 4 I suppose) times in the last 7 editions but I agree, I think it should take a break until 2015. I'm pretty sure the Galibier will return since we haven't had it for two years, don't really want a finish on it though, the Giro stage this year there was sooooo boring.

And so the 100th edition of the Tour de France concludes, and I must say, it's been a great edition. We've had pretty much everything you can get (apart from positive tests): a few great mountain stages, close sprints, the emergence of Kittel and Quintana as future world-beaters, the inevitable crashes, great scenery, novelty, tradition, history, a great route, controversy, an exciting flat stage, a French win on Alpe d'Huez, etc the list goes on...
Oh and some mutant braking round the corners up Mont Ventoux, but no one really cares about him/it
No doubt we'll go back to a shitty route/boring tour next year though.
Yep the mutant was slower than AS and AC up Ventoux, I bet they int Mutants in your opinion. CF is here to stay maybe go watch a diff sport pal. I do agree it was a great addition, NQ is indeed here to stay, at 23 he is as good as CF uphill already the guy should be atleat a 3xTDF champion. |

I thiink this year was about right with the TTs. I'm not a fan of prologues at all, I think its a waste of a stage tbh as gaps are nothing. Dont have two 30k+ flat ones like last year sure, but I think its good to have one 30-40k fairly flat TT as long as you have good climbs to balance it out.
Tour should be rounded so that the best overall guy wins, not just the best climber. That is what the polka-dots is for.
I'm not a huge fan of the TTTs either simply because they make it so hard for outsiders to win as the big teams can afford domestiques that can TT and climb, whilst the smaller teams can't. |

Reminds me of that study by Horváth and a few others on what dopers say.
It concluded that pretty much only unrepentant dopers say 'there's barely anyone doping now. it's very clean'. The clean guys usually say that it's pretty prevalent and they're not happy with the sport's situation.

I was thinking about the Hautacam climb the other day on how it hasn't been used since 2008, it would be nice to see it back. I feel they are over using some climbs like Madalaine, Ax 3 Domaines, Pailheres too much in recent years. I would like to see the Cime de la Bonnette, Tourmalet, Aspin, Aubisque, Galibier, Croix de fer and Col D'Agnel back but using towards the end of the stage this time.

Canc, Voigt and Nicki S went full gas there in 2009 to bring the break back. Siutsou set a very gentle pace there this time. But it's hardly uphill so no point to include it to compere times
