TOUR OF THE GILA
Stage 4 – Downtown Silver City Criterium – 66.7km
The first attack of the day contains Hagenaars/MetecTKH Continental, Weber/Team Differdange, Brandt/5 Hour Energy and Leibovitz/Chipotle First Solar
They have now been joined by Kriek/Jelly Belly
Eldridge/Team Novo Nordisk is also trying to join the party
He finally makes it across to the leaders and is also joined by Puckett/Bear Development
Team Exergy and Rabobank Development are leading the chase
Eldridge falls inside the breakaway and narrowly avoids being hit by the now fast moving peleton
Meanwhile Stuyven/Bontrager has caught the break and has set off alone
This could be anybodys race as no one team is in charge
Rodriguez/Team Exergy leads them under the red kite
But its the German sprinter Zabel who grabs the win for Rabobank

Feel really sorry for Joe Eldridge, he battled so hard to get in to the breakaway and then a small lapse of concentration and he is on the deck.
Luckily its only cuts and bruises and a lot of embarrassment |

That picture makes it look absolutely horrible
baseballlover312, 06-03-14 : "Nuke Moscow...Don't worry Russia, we've got plenty of love to go around your cities"
Sarah Palin, 08-03-14 (CPAC, on Russian aggression) : "The only thing that stops a bad guy with a nuke is a good guy with a nuke"
Big thanks to jdog for making this AMAZING userbar!

I choose to think that the rider in red and black colours (5hr energy maybe?) is already braking to avoid him, that way it doesn't look quite as bad. Actually no, just saw the Chipotle rider almost running over poor Joe's head

EMERALD RACE
Emerald – Claremont – 218km
Veikkanen/FDJ, Martin/Bianchi Lotto, Morton/Suvelo Racing and Phelan/DrapacCycling are the four riders who make up the current breakaway and they have a gap of 2m 52s
Garmin Sharp and Vacansoleil are sharing the workload at the head of the peleton
The four riders are tapping out a nice rhythm together at the front of the race
Isaychev/Katusha starts to liven things up within the peleton by going off the front on his own
The race is all back together once again thanks to the hard work from Garmin Sharp
A crash in the pack takes down several riders inclusing Boswell and Edmonson of Team Sky
The sprinters trains are beginning to gather at the front as we head towards today's finale
Efimkin/Team Novo Nordisk is setting such a fast pace that his team mates can't keep up
Von Hoff/Garmin Sharp leads everyone up the last incline to the finish
But he gets pipped at the line by Visconti of Movistar

the_hoyle - Javier rode a great last stage at the Gila to salvage something for the team and 20th was at least an improvement despite the quite race
