Bahrain are flying this season but somehow Poels can't even hang on in the breakaway group.

Terrific win for Mollema. I thought for sure he went too early, but he was clear the strongest today.

I was cofident when he was left alone with a handful of seconds, that's the way he got mainly his wins, like Lombardia or first TdF stage some years ago. If he enjoy some freedom it's really hard to catch up him again. His action is as profitable as it is ugly.

Interesting tactics from Crashobank today sending WVA, Kuss and Kruijswijk in the break. Vingegaard long range attack? |

Imagine van Aert winning the polka dots before the green jersey. |

First US winner since Tyler Farrar in 2011.
Kuss clearly better as a gregario/with free role rather than leadership, this is pretty much obvious right now. |

I'm not gigantic Kuss fan all things considered, but cool to have an American winner. Can't believe it's been over 10 years since the Farrar win.

Colbrelli has climbed better than he sprinted so far in this race.
Anyway, VAMOS KONRAD, I’ve been waiting for his first huge win aside from the national championships for 3 years now. |

Awesome to see Konrad make a move away and finally (and I mean finally) win something, but I really hope the next two days are actual GC fights and I don't see any more "eh let the break go out 10+ min" horseshit

3rd stage winner but actually the 5th stage. However 3 of them were in 1931
Other than that Pöstlberger's win the opening stage at the giro is the only other Austrian GT stage win. Surprised me seeing this earlier, maybe Austria should get some of their many skijumpers to switch to cycling. |
