I think Basso will ignite the race or blow up tomorrow. After all that work he can't be riding for a podium.

Its not like Hesjedal is guaranteed to lose time
Its just likely.
But like others have said his descending will be important.

Does anyone have a clue what the weather will be like? Rainy or sunny?

Well for the finish city Cortina d'Ampezzo forecast seems to be rainy:

I had this impression, Scarponi was one of those helpless disastrous TTists unable to lose less than 2'00 - 2'30 in a 30km TT, but just checked some results and found out I was wrong, and that he actually usually defends himself pretty well in the last TT. So I have to agree with you kumazan.
However I still don't believe Basso will ignite the race tomorrow.
Also I'm pretty interested in seeing what Lampre will do. They've been using Cunego in almost every mountain stage for long breakaways, but that tactic has been pretty much useless. I wonder if they'll do the same tomorrow.
Heh. Funny the impressions we sometimes get.
For the longest time I was under the impression that Scarponi was a tall lanky fella

for the betting, if only Nibali was riding, i'd have put my house on him
can't see the break succeeding either (due to the amount of hills)
will be a favourite, but can't think of who
tempted for Cunego, but maybe he'll help Scarponi with the descent
looks like a cracking stage though, possibly the best of the giro so far (not that the bar was too high) |

I just watched the end of the last stage, no wonder I fell asleep watching it last night. It was never going to be decisive and Pirazzi, I dont know what he was thinking. I think Rujano or Pozzovivo will either put in a big attack, or try stay with the main group of contenders and not lose time on the descent. But they are behind by a bit so they have to go eventually.

I'm thinking that if Rujano has anything left he is saving it for the last mountain stage, where he can go for a long range attack and hope for the stage win. Pozzovivo realistically needs to go over the top of Passo Giau today ahead of the other favourites, because there is a decent chance that he will lose time.

Bos abandons. Rabo's team is now 4 riders big. Impey and Kennaugh abandon too. Looks like tomorrow will be one for break with not many teams to control the race on at this point, and Sky only has 7 men left.

Already good tempo in the field, on a longm hard day like this where you need any tiny bit of resources that will have some effect. Grupetto already formed. |

I will be very surprised if Cavendish makes it all the way to the finish of the race, but deep down i really hope he does so as to keep the points jersey

Not long till they get to the Passo Duran

Doubt he gets it. RodrÃguez is only 26pts behind with 3 mountain stages to go
EDIT: Also, Friday's stage is going to be a heck of a thing for Cavendish to get inside the time limit

Dont forget someone will pull him up the mountains as always. The personnel of Sky, or motorbike or something like that. Or there will be too many riders outside time limit to dismiss so many

True
Still, unless RodrÃguez collapses, he'll end up with more points.

That would be great to see. I expect he will go before the Giau, or on the early slopes. He likes his long range attacks like stage 15 last year.
