Really ? He showed nothing this year except the most flukiest WT race win in some time.
He actually worked his ass off in the stages to Manresa and Ascó. He was really lucky that the queen stage was cancelled obviously, but he did show good form there.
This said, can't see him doing more than a low top 10, if anything at all.

looks like some riders made their first good classic result there.
Kiserlovski, Martin, Ulissi and Henao. I didn't expect them. I thought Duarte was going to do well but i didn't see him around...

Indeed, that's really great result. Good for him
So how was the race today ? Came back from school. How did Nordhaug do ? I heard that Uran crashed quite badly. Henao did quite well on 14th, pleased about that.

Well deserved win for Purito who finally got his big Ardenne win in the bag.
Gilbert is looking better and better, and Liege suits him better so a win there is defiantly not impossible. Too bad for Schleck that he had that puncture before the finish, let's hope he will be fired up for Liege - That could make the race much more interesting!
Not that I'm a fan of RadioShack or anything, but they have really been terrible so far and they should go all out now

And also Valverde is once again a no-show.

Nordaug and Ryder Hesjedal had a move up the second to last climb up until .7 km to go when thwey were swept up and cracked. But still, great performance.

Nordhaug attacked on the penultimate climb together with Hesjedal, but was shut down in the middle of the Mur. He did look strong however, especially after that crash.

17. ANTON Igor 21 EUSKALTEL - EUSKADI 4h 45' 52" + 00' 11"
20. SCHLECK Frank 71 RADIOSHACK-NISSAN 4h 45' 59" + 00' 18"
21. HESJEDAL Ryder 171 GARMIN - BARRACUDA 4h 45' 59" + 00' 18"
22. GESINK Robert 101 RABOBANK CYCLING TEAM 4h 46' 04" + 00' 23"
32. DUARTE Fabio Andres 243 COLOMBIA-COLDEPORTES 4h 46' 12" + 00' 31"
42. HORNER Christopher 75 RADIOSHACK-NISSAN 4h 46' 24" + 00' 43"
43. KROON Karsten 233 TEAM SAXO BANK 4h 46' 28" + 00' 47"
46. VALVERDE Alejandro 81 MOVISTAR TEAM 4h 46' 32" + 00' 51"
53. NORDHAUG Lars-Peter 55 SKY PROCYCLING 4h 46' 43" + 01' 02"
71. DEKKER Thomas 172 GARMIN - BARRACUDA 4h 47' 38" + 01' 57"
81. SCHLECK Andy 77 RADIOSHACK-NISSAN 4h 48' 06" + 02' 25"
Dekker wasn't even with the best 120 after being too far in the back and the peloton split.
I have no idea how he managed to finish in front of a lot of those front group men. But he was probably dropped because of being inattentive rather than bad
Valverde is shit btw |

Great by Nibali to manage an 8th after a month away from competition, he should be a hard contender for sunday.
Ulissi did also very good and Gasparotto did good aswell and should be a good contender on sunday. |

Valverde's problems are caused by his sickness last week I think.
Anton was disappointing though. He usually does very well on this climb.

Nordaug cracked bad after the attack. I expected it, but how the hell did Hesjedal keep 18 seconds back?

Thanks for that. Good that he recovered well from the crash then. Shame about Uran crashing though, hope he's ok for LBL.

He seems to be sick pretty often. I think he should see a doctor about all these underperformances.

Ulissi is the man for the future. Very good result by him. Gilbert still able to finish 3rd despite being far from his top form. 7th for Mollema is a good result. His years will come too. Poels wasn't far away either.

I think I've said several times that my predictions tend to fail.
Well, obvious Purito win is obvious. I don't understand how he managed not to win here yet, a 1km uphill race is just perfect for him.
