Great, David still has it! Any more stages where he could lose time?

Good that David didn't lose any time. I hope he can hold the leaders jersey for some more days.

The problem will be the time bonifications, though from memory most of the other stages have hilly sections in them.
This has been a wonderful little race for David, even if he loses that leaders jersey this is gaining him some prestige.

Yeah, like Smowz says, the rest are all flat stages, and while David shouldn't lose time, he might not get any time bonuses while Rigotto will.
I hope he can hold on to win too. It would be awesome.
Thanks Smowz, I have a small little update after the Tour of Turkey, which I think you will all like.

All you have to do is block the road so Rigotto can't get through and pick up time bonuses at the finish. Oh ... wait he'll ride right through you :lol
Good Luck!

That'll be a strategy for PCM11.....
I'm very busy these days, but I also dont think I will continue or atleast have much more reports because I've been getting fed up with the AI of PCM10. I hope to come back for PCM 11 though. Thanks to everyone that followed this story, sometimes it was you guys that kept me going.

Presidential Tour of Turkey: Stage 5
April, 28th, 2012
tbh I forget what happened exactly in this stage since I played it over a month ago. Sorry
David's Plan:
The pressure to hold on to the jersey is starting to grow, and with a couple hilly sections today could be a prime location for a favourite to attack. I think I jsut have to stay calm and not let a dangerous break stay away to the finish, losing me the lead.
The BOTD gonig over the KoM sprint. There's a couple guys here within the time of my lead, and would take it over, if we dont start chasing it back.
From there Rudaskov and Sutherland attack, and escape from the original breakaway creating a massive gap of 2 minutes.
Rudaskov shows he is the strongest and outsprints the seasoned vet Sutherland for the win.
Meanwhile, I send all my men up to the front to chase it down, but we dont have enough power and the lead moves to Craig Lewis' shoulders, who was 3rd on the stage and still quite a bit of time ahead of the pelotons arrival.
Stage:

Bummer. But to hold the jersey for a few stages was great. Plus 4th overall is still a great achievement. |

Yeah, it really sucks, but David's still in 4th. Plus he was probably going to lose it to Rigotto later anyway, so now he can attack lots.

Presidential Tour of Turkey: Stage 6
April, 29th, 2012
David's Plan: Since I lost my lead in the overall yesterday, and am down almost 5 minutes to Craig Lewis, it might be possible for me to attack on the really steep climb in the second half of the stage. Of course, if that doesn't work out, we can always go for the stage win with Swift, who is looking like the top sprinter he was thought to have been a while ago.
There is a group leading the race with almost 5 minutes to our group, and another group a minute ahead of us. I'm thinking the break may survive again, so I went on the attack on the steep climb. It was definitely tough, but I made it over that top with an advantage of 1 minute or so. Strangely I was still 1 minute behind Group 2 so thats a sign that the peloton wasn't chasing much.
Bonnin and Scognamiglio attack each other a few times in the final kilometres, as one of them are guaranteed the win.
Bonnin wins it. I was eventually brought back by the peloton as I wasn't making any ground on Group 2 just ahead of me. We finished about 4 minutes after Bonnin, and lose more places in the GC.
Stage:
1 | Thomas Bonnin | Skil - Shimano | 4h43'20 | 2 | Carlo Scognamiglio | Acqua & Sapone | s.t. | 3 | Thomas Bertolini | Farnese Vini - Neri Sottoli | + 3'02 | 4 | Eladio Jiménez | Caja Rural | s.t. | 5 | Philip Deignan | Adria Mobil | s.t. | 6 | Ben Swift | Sky ProCycling | + 4'08 | 7 | Paride Grillo | D'Angelo & Antenucci-Nippo | s.t. | 8 | Yukiya Arashiro | Team Europcar | s.t. | 9 | Pierpaolo De Negri | Farnese Vini - Neri Sottoli | s.t. | 10 | Elia Rigotto | Acqua & Sapone | s.t. | ... | 39 | David Veilleux | Sky ProCycling | s.t. |
GC:
1 | Craig Lewis | UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling | 25h07'56 | 2 | Sergey Rudaskov | Itera - Katusha | + 35 | 3 | Thomas Bonnin | Skil - Shimano | + 2'21 | 4 | Carlo Scognamiglio | Acqua & Sapone | + 5'18 | 5 | Rory Sutherland | V Australia | + 5'23 | 6 | Eladio Jiménez | Caja Rural | + 5'39 | 7 | Philip Deignan | Adria Mobil | + 5'45 | 8 | Elia Rigotto | Acqua & Sapone | + 6'09 | 9 | David Veilleux | Sky ProCycling | s.t. | 10 | Mikhail Ignatiev | Sky ProCycling | + 6'15 |
Points:
1 | Elia Rigotto | Acqua & Sapone | 6 | 42 | 2 | Yukiya Arashiro | Team Europcar | 8 | 40 | 3 | Ben Swift | Sky ProCycling | 10 | 38 | 4 | Marcel Sieberg | Omega Pharma - Lotto | 2 | 34 | 5 | David Veilleux | Sky ProCycling | 0 | 34 |

Presidential Tour of Turkey: Stage 7
April, 30th, 2012
David's Plan: Well, for today, it looks like it should go down to a sprinter winning. My team-mate Ben Swift is the favourite to win the stage, and with all our luck in the first few stages turning from gold to coal, we will work for Swifty to try and get a stage win, and leave with some good results.
A 9-man break got clear on the only climb of the day. Later afterwards, there was an attack seperating the group into 6 men, including Proni of A&S, and Masaaki Kikuchi of D'Angelo & Antenucci - Nippo.
The break like the past few days was given a large gap, and again it looked like we wouldn't see them get caught again. Proni made a very late attack and got a small gap to the others in his group, while the other followers eventually made it up to the leade group again, diminishing any time gaps.
In the end Proni won the stage, a well deserved victory for him, after countless attacks, and smart moves which in the end paid off.
The fight for tenth, and the first place of the peloton, was widely contested. I helped Siwfty in the lead-out, but he was narrowly beaten to the line, by my former teammate Arashiro. Swift still finished 11th though.
Stage:
1 | Alessandro Proni | Acqua & Sapone | 2h40'15 | 2 | Egoitz GarcÃa | Caja Rural | s.t. | 3 | Uros Murn | Adria Mobil | s.t. | 4 | Koen Barbé | Landbouwkrediet | s.t. | 5 | Gordon McCauley | PureBlack Racing | s.t. | 6 | Masaaki Kikuchi | D'Angelo & Antenucci-Nippo | s.t. | 7 | Stanislav Kozúbek | PSK Whirlpool - Author | s.t. | 8 | Aliaksandr Sinelnikau | ISD - Lampre Continental | s.t. | 9 | Peter Femal | Team Type 1 | + 1'00 | 10 | Yukiya Arashiro | Team Europcar | + 1'23 | 11 | Ben Swift | Sky ProCycling | s.t. | 12 | Sacha Modolo | Colnago - CSF Inox | s.t. | 13 | Elia Rigotto | Acqua & Sapone | s.t. | 14 | Paride Grillo | D'Angelo & Antenucci-Nippo | s.t. | 15 | Maurizio Biondo | Acqua & Sapone | s.t. | ... | 41 | David Veilleux | Sky ProCycling | s.t. |

Presidential Tour of Turkey: Stage 8
May, 1st, 2012
David's Plan:Well today is the final stage of the tour. Its a very flat stage, suitable to Swifty. We should be working for him, because a win would give him the win in the points competition right before the Giro, meaning he has good form going into the Italian GT.
With the break caught it was now time to focus on the sprint. In the last 5kms we formed a great train, to bring Swift to the line first. I had a lot of pressure on my shoulders being the final guy, before Swift launches his sprint so I couldn't mess anything up.
But its looking like I did mess things up. #21 is Swift, who looks trapped in the peloton, thanks to my empty legs. But somehow he gets out.
And after that, he flys past everyone and takes the win. I'm super glad we won the day, as its a great result for the team, and a good sign that his form is good for the Giro.
Stage:
1 | Ben Swift | Sky ProCycling | 3h43'08 | 2 | Elia Rigotto | Acqua & Sapone | s.t. | 3 | Roy Curvers | Skil - Shimano | s.t. | 4 | Marco Marcato | Acqua & Sapone | s.t. | 5 | Mickaël Delage | Team Europcar | s.t. | 6 | Rory Sutherland | V Australia | s.t. | 7 | Alexandre Pichot | Team Europcar | s.t. | 8 | Carlo Scognamiglio | Acqua & Sapone | s.t. | 9 | Thomas Bonnin | Skil - Shimano | s.t. | 10 | Tomas Vaitkus | Pro Team Astana | s.t. | 11 | Uros Murn | Adria Mobil | s.t. | 12 | Ian Stannard | Sky ProCycling | s.t. | 13 | Shawn Milne | UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling | s.t. | 14 | Francisco José Pacheco | Caja Rural | s.t. | 15 | Justin Williams | Team Type 1 | s.t. | ... | 64 | David Veilleux | Sky ProCycling | s.t. |

There's so many of your stories throughout the forums, it's hard to follow/concentrate on all of them
Great victory with Swifty and David's performance thorughout the race and GC position is great, just KEEP IT UP

Well, you got a rider in the top-10, although not the one we wished. |

Yeah well I love writing stories, but everyday it seems like I have a different team in mind to play with, sometimes its a small team = SpiderTech, other times I feel like playing with decent AI = PCM08 and other times I just feel like this one. But I think I'm getting back into this one more than the others, so hopefully this is the best of the three and you'll be happy with my choice.
Will do.
@Freitas- Yeah we worked hard for Swift in the last two stages, and he recieved nice time bonuses so that was the plan the whole way, I guess.

Hey guys, just in Canada right now. I've been back here for a few days now, because my next race is only 7 hours of flying away, so I thought I'd return home and see my family for a bit. The last month was really great, I think I've learned a lot at the Tour of Turkey, and I think I can ride a good Tour of California, and being a great teammate to Mick Rogers. I feel a lot better than I did before, and maybe I can put in good results later in the season when I figure out what to peak for.

Hope to see you soon,

Nice improvement! And it's really great to hear that you'll pick up this story more intense. As you might imagine, I kinda like one rider stories
