Looks like Ashbroeck. He still has 1 race left, which is raced tommorow, where as Colbrelli looks to be done for this season.
Unless he suddenly shows up in Tour of Hainan or Japan Cup, but i doubt it. |

If I'm not mistaken there is another stage that has sprint points. I wouldn't settle anything yet.

I would. No way Martin gets any of those. You have to remember that the points jersey is still in play as well. And the last stage literally can't get any flatter. |

I guess thats the best response too come with when you realise someone else is on too something.
Sorry to crush your hope of overall victory for Martin. |

You didn't crush anything. That was the point of my response.

There is nothing realistic suggesting Martin can do anything with such a flat profile where all the sprinters want to ride. Besides Gilbert is better on this surface than Martin.
So unless you count on Gilbert crashing or having to change tire there is no chance. It's not like Gilbert isn't aware of the fact that Martin only has 3 seconds up to him. |

Well in the Vuelta all the other rivals were aware Froome took them, and he still did.
But I ask, why do you care so much? You must be as much of a Gilbert fan as I am a Martin fan and/or you enjoy being a douche.

Fun fact: Farrar won in WT for the first time since 4.07.2011 (Tour de France stage 3).

Tomorrow is the last pro road race in Europe for 2014 Nationale Sluitingprijs - Putte - Kapellen, a flat classic will end the season with ITT Chrono Des Nations to come next week.
Big favourite, and winner from 2013 will be very motivated to win here, that is Jens Debuscchere who has racked up 6! podiums in last 2 weeks, but no win.
If it comes to pure sprint, his biggest challengers will be Sinkeldam from Giant, Asbroeck from TopSport and Jans from Wanty. However we have OPQS that will want to make this race tough, Stybar leading a strong team here.

Ooooh, stop it please. If anyone in that discussion acted like a douche, its you. And for the record, I completely agree with Dusen and its fair you dont, but the fact of the matter is, you are the one getting personal here |

Am i the only one being a little depressed about the cycling season going on a break for the next 2-3 months. These guys should be forced to ride all year long
Well. Besides the last 2 european UCI races there is ofc. Tour of Hainan and Japan cup and then smaller asian/african races. But besides that its only CycloCross we've got for the next few months
Already looking forward to the busy spring season |

In the Vuelta, the race didn't exactly depend on those 4 sec, Martin needs to catch here in Tour of Beiing to take the overall win
Actually i am not a big Gilbert fan, i like the rider but i like Martin as well. Just wanted to point out that it was pretty much impossible looking at the route and the riders who wants to win on that stage, but ofc. its still a race tommorow everything can happend.
Let's leave it at the okay ?

I'm trully impressed by Garmin's end of the season. Before Vuelta, it all seemed they were going to have their worst finish ever in the UCI WT Team Ranking by some margin. But they were able to climb 5 places back to 11th, which is only their equal worst ever. The end of the season was superb with Martin's performances in Vuelta, Lombardia and Beijing, Navardauskas' performances in Canada and Hesjedal' stage win in Vuelta and Farrar's first WT victory since 2011, in Beijing. |
