Bukovina stages are all but regular, expect lots of chaos. Pfft

I'm kinda scared of this guy.

Yeah it's insane how much he is winning, and in what style. He will be larger than life.

Evenpoel has the talent to be the biggest thing since Merckx it seems. Now the question is: will he continue to improve or this is the max for him? It would be really weird if this was the max for him of course, considering his age.

If things go as expected, this might be biggest cycling talent we have seen in a LONG LONG time. Completelly overtook the hype we had for him.

Lol he’s the kind of guy to win MSR with an attack at Passo del Turchino. Pfft

Yellow Jersey
He's the kind of guy who wins PR before going in the cobbles

Evenepoel is insane, reminding me young Frank Vandenbroucke

didn't realize that EC was arriving so early...I lost the TV coverage Sad

Now I'm curious to see how it unfolded, with such gaps between sprinters

Same here, wanted to see the last hour but they already finished. Apparently Ackermann, Viviani and Lampaert attacked.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

I saw the last hour and the three attackers benefited from a small chasing field from behind, mostly just Holland and briefly UK and Norway really chasing and was odd to see two of the top sprinters in the three attackers and also Alkmaar seems a very nice city looking at the pictures.

What was odd though, is when Ackermann looked the weaker of the three and couldn't follow first Lampaert and then Viviani. Lampaert continued to do most of the work on the front with Viviani just following, it's almost like he had forgotten that for this race they are on different teams, Lampaert clearly raced with his brains left on the start line as he wasn't going to stand a chance in the sprint.

João Rodrigues wins Volta a Portugal, after crushing the final time trial. He started second, equal in time with Joni Brandão who couldn't match Rodrigues, conceeding around 27 seconds. W52-FC Porto managed a 1-3-4-5 in the GC, and I risk saying the only way Joni Brandão (one of the best Portuguese climbers in the peloton) can win the Volta is by joining the Portuguese Skineos.

Volta a Portugal is my guilty pleasure

It turned out to be a suprisingly thrilling race, despite the underwhelming stages to Torre and Srª Graça. Also W52-FC Porto 1-3-4-5 in GC fails to denounce the uncertainty that took hold of the race after Larouco and Brandão's takeover of the yellow jersey.

The final ITT stage was really beautiful too. However the TV broadcast only showed the start and finish of each rider until the last 3, where they had motorbikes to film the whole route. What a waste...

Agreed, after reviewing the race the transmission was horrible, only 3 riders had cameras (I can confirm that) and most of the start overshots were a drone, Granfondo level. Anyhow, from Antonio Carvalho and João Rodrigues I saw the fastest speeds where I was, Rodrigues was insane, FLYING. I took lots of pictures.

Some nice pictures there. Smile

Broadcast was indeed terrible, shame because it was such a wonderful, scenic route. Porto is a lovely town. Now, W52 did benefit from António Carvalho's incredible ride (at last, showing he can still ride as good as he did 2 or 3 years ago), Boavista's incapacity to time trial with Benta and Rodrigues and Frederico Figueiredo's unfortunate withdrawal this morning (great effort yesterday, finished in the top-5 with a broken wrist, couldn't start today, though), because they weren't as strong as on the past six years.

Wærenskjold is a sprinter/classics type of rider. He will have his chances on the easier stages, but Tobias Foss is Norway’s GC hope with Leknessund injured.

I know he is, I gotta hype him up though.

I mean he's not a sprinter really, he showed that very well in u23 championships

Three wins back to back for Bennett in BinckBank. If he goes to Quick Step, Lefevre has done everything right
