E3 Harelbeke Result

Podium
1) Niki Terpstra
2) Philippe Gilbert
3) Greg Van Avermaet

Terpstra led the Quickstep dominance in this race, with Gilbert making it a 1-2 for them after a perfectly played race. Van Avermaet rounded out the podium.

No one had Terpstra as one of their podium picks. Gilbert was predicted by two of our members while Van Avermaet was the second most popular pick with seven. Unsurprisidingly, Sagan was the most popular pick but he had a disappointing race.

Marco and roturn's picks of Gilbert and Van Avermaet gives the joint win in this race, with points for both second and third places. Five others finish jointly in third with Van Avermaet in their team. Five members end up with zero scores, including second placed Aquarius, who hands over the advantage to Selwink and df_Trek at the top.

The updated table will be posted with the result of Gent-Wevelgem. Stay tuned...

Volta a Catalunya Result

Podium
1) Alejandro Valverde
2) Nairo Quintana
3) Pierre Latour

Valverde led a Movistar 1-2 in a race he dominated mostly. Quintana picks up his first big result of the season. Latour picked up a surprising 3rd place, ahead of more fancied riders.

Valverde was the most popular pick with all but one member having him in their team. Four picks for Quintana, which basically decided the winners of this race. No one had Latour in their team. Simon Yates, who finished in 4th, was a popular pick and a near-miss for four members.

With their picks of both Valverde and Quintana, Raziz, Aquarius, Selwink and Freitas pick up the win in this race. Everyone else, barring Croatia, had Valverde and get points for first place only.

df_Trek this time loses ground in the battle at the top, with Selwink and Aquarius both out-scoring him. It's all quite tight in the midfield at this moment.

The updated table will be posted with the result of Gent-Wevelgem. Stay tuned...

Gent - Wevelgem Result

Podium
1) Peter Sagan
2) Elia Viviani
3) Arnaud Demare

Sagan picked up his first classics win of the season after an indifferent start. Viviani continues his fine form to claim second. Demare too, is having a good year and completes the podium.

Sagan was the most popular pick and rewards seven predictors with points for first place. Viviani was picked by only one member. Demare was more popular, providing third place points to four members. Van Avermaet was the second most picked rider, with six inclusions, but only managed 14th place at the finish.

With his pick of both Sagan and Viviani, Abhishek takes the win in this race. Aquarius is second, the only one having both Sagan and Demare in their team. Five riders are tied for third with Sagan in their team. Selwink loses out massively this time in the top of the table merry-go-round.

The updated table now looks like this:

Aquarius is the new leader after this triple-header of updates, despite not having scored in E3. df_Trek is just 5 points behind. Selwink's duck in GW hurts distances him to some extent, while the battle from 4th to 9th is immensely tight. Croatia returns to the bottom of the table among our regulars. Jandal's miserable season continues while purepasd's miss in GW sees him lose ground in the midfield battle.

I'm still in good positioning despite not exciting choices, I wasn't expecting this. Let see how is going this rolling of classics...
