So the next 4 days is flat, am I right?
Tomorrow is hilly even during the Imola circuit, with an average of 4-5% during the ascent of the climb 7.5km before the finishing line. The day after that is practically the Vuelta a Espana () with the final kilometre rising up to the line at an average of +7%.
It isn't until the day, Stage 13, before the individual time trial that the bulkier sprinters like Greipel will likely have a chance at victory again, unless they want to throw that away as well.

Can't wait for the finish at Imola tomorrow. Acqua Minerale corner is quite a steep hill someone can attack there with 800 metres to go if theyre doing a full lap |

Think it was Michael Matthews, he even paced him back too. |

Orica - GreenEDGE trying to butter up Richie Porte for a potential switch from Team Sky or what? Obviously you get alliances, temporary or otherwise, in races but come on lads you got potential stage victories coming up there was no need for Michael Matthews to waste energy pulling.

Rulebook states that riders who help other teams riders should be punished with a 2 minute penalty.

Clarke will certainly mind at 44 minutes down. It would be interesting if that rule works the other way round too, though.

But what was going on really ??
Some says Porte stopped on the left side of the road (looks like it when Clarke helps him). The Sky cars missed him and it all got messed up.
Hey one always stops on the right side of the road when mech trouble.
Is this another strange minddrop by Richie ?? Sometimes the Big Races makes him make very strange things.
Nice to see aussies helping out one another, but then again ....

Giro shows pictures of Porte and Clarke on their facebook page: "This is cycling. This is the best sport in the world." Very nice move by Clarke to help a friends.
Very unfortunate mechanical for Porte, this puts pressure on him for the TT to take back time on Contador. But what's important was alwas third week and it's still the same. For Bertie this was good, now I hope he keeps the jersey after the TT too.
EDIT: Wow, two minutes penalty... this is awful!
