Well with 5-6 in the break( boivon on loan from us) if we didn't win I'd have been disappointed but my favourite out of all the riders in the break taking the win is just the best so happy to see Cataford take the National Champs jersey into his second year as a pro and Meier winning the TT is the perfect national champs |

Canada was very pedagogic for me. When being the dominant team in a NC race, simply divide your roster through multiple low-numbered teams. Thanks for the lesson jt, and congrats on your victory
Also great report Mre. The history of the NCs really gave it another sense of depth

Good to see Meier retain one jersey, thought the former Wikipedia rider might be in line for the double there.

Yes, Kittel! My number one target of the National Championships achieved, Kittel is finally National champion He messed up when he was the favourite in the past, and fortunately Fiedler seems to end up on inactive teams more often than not - so this year really was the perfect opportunity to take it.

Not at all surprised about the German NC. Most of the favourites had almost no support there (like my own Stauff) and thus no one really had a reason to chase.

I´m really curious, how AI will handle with fact that Mohs/Degenkolb should be amongst main favourites, but my team contains only 3 riders. Hopefully VW, Rothaus, Karcher or Puma will do all that dirty stuff when chasing down breakaway
Guess not...
This is probably pretty much spot on for the problem though. No one wants to help the main favourite and they haven't got the team to do it themselves. Too bad it hit such a big NC though.
Really liking how the NC's move on with plenty of wins to the "right" teams.

Thanks, I think that's Sohrabi's third win in three years actually iirc and that's about the only reason I've kept him since the early Armavia team, so he's starting to become a headache to me, but I'll take it
I really really enjoyed Gilanipoors TT-win though, hoping for a colorful TTT-train in the upcoming season
Thanks for the early morning report Atlantius! |

You're welcome.
Since I had all my NC reports ready for copy/paste monday and most are posted afternoon/evening i figured it would fit to give you one each morning during the week.

Previous news of Sohrabi's retirement potentially premature then? You do realise that he'll probably win next year as well if you keep him on, he'll just keep doing so for ever and ever and ever ..... . Congrats on the TT at least!

Congratulations to FD and SN for the algerian nats!
I had some hopes from Barbari performance in the RR. Since he didn't win a jersey is fair to say he will be available on the transfer period.

Bad luck for SN to lose the Algerian race with 4/7 riders in there.
Shame that Reguigui did not join the break.

Yep, total road race failure in three of the main nations for Eritel next year - but consolation prize of the TT in all.
Denied by Kenya and Project Africa, but I can't get revenge because Samwel already won Kenya, and I don't have any South Africans

Ouch, another shot to the gut for SN. I just hope the same doesn't happen in SA for me. "Luckily" Ben Youcef Abdalla didn't win as I don't think I'll offer him another contract.

Based on this and your HQ post, I'm not sure how you're going to get your squad to fit within the 20 rider limit

You start to wonder how many team mates Bewley will need to ever get near to winning his national champs

All credit for that tactic goes to watching the Japanese Championship last year and Meji having (3/4/5?!) teams worked out well for them so I thought best give it a try worked a treat as it turns out. |

Seems like a half team is not working.
The AI seems to take 2-3 riders for chasing and 2-3 for leadout.
Apparently if you have a 3-5 rider team, those helpers are planned for the final phase, when it is to late to chase, instead of going for chasing and no leadout in the end.
Sucks for Roman as this way, he would need 3-4 more Kiwis.
Or a 2nd team with full squad. |
