Glad Talansky fought back with a breakaway.
Really good fight by De Gendt. Shame for him he was caught.

Good plan for Kwiatek tomorrow would be to attack on the last descent because 2 things marginal gain's can't give you is technical ability and panache |

Concurr as well. Been waiting for the guy who did that ride up the Stelvio to come back, and it looked a little bit like that today. I thought he and Silin were going to get swallowed up comfortably, and when the camera cut back to the break and he suddenly had that big gap and was motoring, I was convinced he was going to hold them off. Great ride. |

Yeah, Kwiatek will definitely try to do something. It's just his style, guy has real panache.
@Ian and Kiserv: Thanks for the info, sounds like De Gendt is really getting close to his good years. Well, I don't want to jinx it but, let's just hope for the best.

Today I expect the biggest time differences of the entire week. The stage should be very tactical and exciting. Can´t wait..... |

I really like De Gendt as a cyclist, never gives up and he's finally coming back into form after the Giro 2012.

Porte's Australian, but I find it so hard to watch Sky win, as you said, Kwiatek has so much more panache and he is much more deserving of the win, of course though, by the logic De Gendt should take it.

Yep Kwiatek is a really attacking rider in mountain stage races.
As we saw on the mountain stage he was repeatedly attacking unlike the skyborgs who just sat their all wheelsucking their way to the top of the climb and only came to the front when they absolutely have to.
*drops sarcasm.
I agree Kwaitek is an exciting rider but ffs get the blinkers off Kwiatek's mode on mountain climbs is to diesel up it and go for a fast finish. We will see if he has the strength to attack Sky on the descent into Nice today. In the past I have seen Kwaitek fade on the second or third mountain stages and struggle when selections are made.
Should be an anti Sky alliance made today - should be an attacking ride before the TT or of course Sky could suck the fun out of it. We shall see.

Indeed. Unless he have significantly improved he may be a target for riders such as Jakob Fuglsang, Tejay van Garderen and Rui Costa today (clearly the Sky's aswell).
Impact must be done today, because tomorrow I doubt anyone can really wham at Porte. The climb should suit him well, and as the distance is isn't too long there isn't enough time for the likes of Aru to really shake up things.
I think we might see some action from my mate Jakob Fuglsang today. The downhill section in the end should suit him well, and I don't think he will struggle with the amount of climbs today. The TT will also suit him very well, but it's not likely that he will beat Porte, Thomas and van Garderen. And he said he wasn't happy with all these subtop result anymore. So I guess he will rather end up 10th having tried than 5th having not.

Looking forward ro today. As far as I know, they are at Vence now and Movistar has Quintana, Erviti and Ion in the break with 1'10 down. Interesting to see whether the guys from 4-20 in the GC will try to attack Sky like we saw teams do to Froome and Contador in Dauphine or it will be the rather dull affair to Nice as usual. |

Great stuff, there should be more of those huge group efforts. Make for better racing any day of the week. Wellens, Izagirre, Yates, Barguil... De Gendt, Clarke, Dennis Breschel, Slagter, Boom, Bakelants... Taaramee, Sicard, Bennet, Jungels and... Greipel... oooff, quality.

Well Greipel just dropped just like Steegmans (who actually abandoned now), Haussler, Cimolai and Senechal.
Therefore several more riders try to join them.
Chavanel is only 35s behind and would be a huge rider for todays stage then.

32 riders in that front group with over 2 minutes according to Sporza. Things just got interesting!
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Wellens in yellow after today's stage would be so pretty darn sweet.
