Ladies and gentlemen, it is still all tied, and we are going into the last jury, the World jury, with 4 possible winners, and they are the following: Iceland and Rwanda who are both tied at the top at 121 points, but we also have Sweden on 116 points, and Denmark on 115 points who are only just trailing behind too, and it is still mathematically possible for them to contend. Now we will turn to the World Jury, who will split this stale mate, which is made of 5 industry professionals from across the globe. We will now call our World Jury spokesperson Ban Ki-Moon in Geneva to deliver the deciding points! Good evening Mr. Ki-Moon, are you ready to announce our victor?

I am most certainly ready! Our jury members have been thoroughly enjoying tonight's show, and they'd like to thank you Iceland for hosting a fantastic show tonight. There was a tie in our panel but it was broken up by which song received the highest ranking from each jury member, but anyway that's enough messing around, now it is time to find out who has won the 2nd Daily Song Contest!
Spoiler
1pt- France
2pts- Austria
3pts- Latvia
4pts- Belgium

Commiserations to Iceland who have now fallen short of winning the contest, however we still have Denmark, Sweden and our current leaders Rwanda. And now it is time to reveal the top 3 and our champion...

8 points goes to, and unfortunately not our winner...Denmark!
10 points goes to a new top 5 entry, and that is the Netherlands!

And Harpa Concert Hall are you ready?!?!...will it be Rwanda or Sweden...the World Jury's twelve points, our douze points, tolv poang goes to...I think he'll be a hero tonight, SWEDEN!

You just heard it there, after the closest finish we've ever had, the 2nd Daily Song Contest here in Reykjavik have been won by MÅNS ZELMERLÖW WITH HEROES! Grattis SVERIGE, SWEDEN, grattis Måns Zelmerlöw! This means that next year we will meet in Sweden, but before we go we will grab an interview with our winner Måns Zelmerlöw!

Måns, congratulation on winning the Daily Song Contest, how do you feel?
This is absolutely amazing, I never imagined to win the contest, I just came here to represent Sweden and to make them proud!
Is there anything you want to say to your fans and the people who voted for you?
Yes, I would like to thank everybody who supported me along the way, and I'd like to think that we can all be heroes, and we can all make a difference to this planet. Thank you so, so much!
And Måns, I guess you have to sing us out with your song 'Heroes', so you better get ready to do that.
Thank you so much! I love you all!

Now it is time to say thank you to all the production crew here in Iceland and across the many different DSC delegations who made this show as amazing as it was! Thank you to all the head of delegations and performers, and you you to all of you at home for watching tonight! Now it is time to say goodbye, but before, we will leave you with our winning song 'Heroes' by Måns Zelmerlöw! We will see you next season in Sweden!

15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Shocking result for England and I'm with Dippo - what's the point in entering the actual winner? Pfft

PeterRyder
Top 3 separated by 2 points... WOW Shock

trekbmc
2 points in it. So so close. Still a top 3 keeps Iceland best nation overall. Wink

Thanks for running this, great game! Smile

Fun fact: Rwanda would've come fourth if my votes wouldn't suddenly have disappeared. Not that it matters, Sweden would've won either way. Speaking of Sweden: I'd like to take the opportunity to say a personal "fuck you" to whoever was creative enough to enter that song.

Edit: Oh and New Zealand would've made the Top 5 if that makes you happy Jandal. Smile

BTW Big thank you to trek and whoever else voted for Ireland, you really recognize a good song when you hear one! Smile

Fun Fact: I didn't vote for either of the top 2.

11th is good considering it's my first attempt at one of these, now to plan which nation and song I'm going to enter for the next one.

Selwink
At least Denmark didn't win. That song may be the most awful I have ever heard Frown

Sweden winning isn't much of an improvement.

On a brighter note, 5th is a result I can actually live with Smile
