i wonder if they will be forced to use a different shirt at the tour, as mercatone uno used to do in the 90s
Tinkoff didn't so I'm guessing the same for LottoNL
actually they where forced to, just not as bad as mercatone uno I think. just slightly though.

@sutty: Information on the Pick ONCE is very sparse but I would guess at it being their choice

Well looks like Giro will once again hold all of my hopes of being the best GT of the season.
Yep, and you will once again be glued to the TV for 4 hours a day in July as always. Cut the crap
Well... that outburst was certainly justified
EDIT: And Alakagom said it all. Mountains only really become interesting if there is a reason for people to attack.
I am betting that the same people who are now talking about how great the lack of TTs is are the same people who were saying that the cobbled stages this year were fantastic because they would mean that the TDF could truly determine who the best all-round cyclist was. Well TTs are a HUGE part of that, in fact they are the only way we have to determine who the best cyclist is at an individual level. That is what the essence of this sport should be.
Whatever, you know I am completely right though. If i gave you the choice whether to watch the Giro or the Tour, you would take the Tour 10/10 times despite what people have described as a historically bad route.
I see you are very good in reading people minds. Do you want to try a career in circus?

As far as I remember they were forced to it.

I don't know if this counts as 'news' but it is the off season so anything close to it counts I guess. Bassons has a new job, it turns out, and he is continuing to work in the anti-drug trade:
I always like to see him fighting the good fight and making a decent living for himself. One of the true victims of the sport's darkest days.

How about some good news?

They do need places like USA to help the sport, and this is a great thing that might happen in my opinion

He should never be allowed to compete in cycling events ever, it was him who has dragged the sport of cycling through the gutter |

He is possibly the single most delusional person in sporting history, as Kimmage so eloquently puts it, a cancer on the sport. At no point did he show remorse until everysingle part of his deception had already been torn down by those who helped him build it. Like hundreds of thousands i feel cheated by him.
But i think there is a way back for him, like there is a way back for anyone. However he needs a major change in both atitude and action, and it is going to take effort over an extended period of time. Let's start by seeing exactly what info he gave to the inquiry and move forwards from there. Everyone gets a second chance, they just have to take it

Do I wish that there were a way for him to come back? Of course not. I don't think dopers should be welcomed back at all. Only in a few very rare cases have they then gone on to improve the sport (Millar, Vaughters).
However, if we are going to allow people like Riis and Vinokourov to stick around then I don't see how we can reasonably refuse the same thing from Armstrong. So unless we are going to ban all dopers from coming back, even unrepentant ones like Vino, then we are going to have to acknowledge that there is no reasonable grounds on which to refuse Armstrong.

Hum.. Something is not quite right here. Tinkoff continues his rash of signing people that have been related with doping in past, now signing... Patxi Villa. |

Good news? That would be absolutely horrible. Further away he is from cycling, the better...
Count raised a good point though.
