It's better than that, he claims to be a victim of a conspiracy because the French want a French victor of the Tour of Turkey.
It is just hilarious.
Tour of Turkey. The one race important enough to cheat for.

And we mocked him and his fans for it. We mocked Credit Agricole for signing him. We mocked Hushovd for suggesting it. We even mocked that guy who won a stage with him in PCM.
All in all, he deserved his own version of Planet Armstrong.

Search the forum for his name about five years ago and you will find out.

Mantova doping trial is going forward. The judge has decided that the following people will be charged with doping practices:
Cunego
Bruseghin
Santambrogio
Ballan
Ponzi
Rasmussen
Among others. Lampre manager Saronni will be on trial as well

Team NSP - Ghost might have to retire after the season as their main sponsor stops at the end of 2013.
Definitely not the best situation for German talents with out many home teams. |

Pologne's startlist provisionally announced. Remeber this is first WT race that will have only 6 riders per team. Also Pologne begins in Italy, with 2 tough mountain stages.
On this, Nibali comes as big favoruite I guess with a monster of a team. Biggest challengers to Nibali should be the Colombian duo of Henao and Uran.
In the ITT we will have also a pre face of the Worlds ITT, where Wiggins and Cancellera will be going out for the win.
Overall, a very excting startlist and could be a great race as it was last race. Especially with the smaller squads.

Nice! Especially with the two mountain stages in Italy, this could really be a good race.

Very interesting startlist indeed. In my opinion all week long WT-races should have 6-7 riders per team. |

It strikes that only Cunego and Mori (who has already done time iirc) are the only 2 riders involved that are still with Lampre. Plus the Saronni and the directuers sportifs (who were quickly send to Qinghai lake instead of the tour).
But there hasn't been an examination yet of the phone calls and some claim multiple names of those riders are only on the list because their name was heared during phone conversations.
Damiano's fan forum has gone down in the meanwhile..

Oh, Lampre might send a few characters here rather than there, but they still welcomed Mauro Gianetti in their car a couple of days ago.
Yes, THAT Mauro Gianetti. |
