He is just overrated by you guys. Has always been a stage hunter but had some luck with a weak startlist in 2010 (Peter Velits finished 3rd overal, nuff said).
He beat Nibali and an EPOed up Mosquera

What was his best result in a GT? 7th. He is just not good enough to challenge for a podium or even a top 5.
When he crashed in 2008 he'd been out-climbing Valverde, Purito, Gesink, Leipheimer, Sastre, etc. How Of those 5, one is 39yo now, the other is retired, and the other 3 are beating him.

So, according to you (isso), when and why did Antón's doping program change?

Ah, ok. I think that his "bad form" might be something dope related too, but I can't think of a proper reason for it. I mean if he faded right after the bio passport was introduced, or after changing teams (or his team changing, ehm, staff) it'd be clearer for me at least, but it seems so random.

The thing is, his form should be great. This was his only goal.

He lost way too much weight before last year's Vuelta. Don't know if he weighs more now. Also, he said to have had a lot of problems with the heat so far.

Considering last year was sorta the same, I'd say this is his top form right now.
He'll of course have an excuse, just like every suspicious rider has when he suddenly and misteriously drops a level.
You know, like the BMC brigade and their myriad excuses this year

Well last year the Giro was his excuse. But that isn't the way this year.

He'll just say he went too hard in Burgos or whatever. He said that last year already.

No, it wasn't the Giro. He allegedly had some problems (stomach?, can't remember) which fucked up his preparation. I bought it then, it can happen one time, but now it isn't looking well for him.

Mind you, the result of his lack of performance for his inflated contract is that Euskaltel is struggling to sign guys with enough points to keep WT status

Surprising, since the latter part of the stage was mainly descending something Valverde is good at, and Wiggo and Froome aren't (atleast they aren't know for it)
In the last 30km I approximate about 8 kms of climbing and 22 of descending, and that is split up into two climbs...
Not to mention Valverde is a pretty good climber....

Numbers Valv, numbers, they dont lie usually and Piti was going like a watt-machine that day. But i like him too, so probably he had a genuine day only.
Actually from the last 14kms of the stage only two kilometres were downhill, if we are talking about the same stage...
Nice TT yesterday, i saw only higlights, but Purito was a nice surprise. Still i cant see anyone bar Bertie winning, actually only Froome can challenge him in the bigger mountains, but i hope half a year of his top form should be going to end soon.
And i actually like this Vuelta course a lot Kumazan, imo it brought us double, triple more action like Giro+Tour together so far and i hope it will continue. But i agree something like one more long flat TT in the last week could be useful too.

I, for one, am glad that there's just one TT. If there had been a long, flat one later in the race, Rodriguez and Valverde wouldn't stand a chance.
Now we have an exciting battle with four guys within a minute instead. Plus, I'd love to see Purito finally win a GT.

I dont want,as Purito is a mountain sprinter for me,not the GT rider
But he is improving to be one this year, he showed it at Giro already. Anyway i hope and believe he will be smashed by Bertie.

Crazy climb today, up to almost 30%.
A bit over the top, if you ask me. |

We can't say that this vuelta is juste between four, i mean the mountain stage can make very big gap and for example gesink attack 10 kilometres from the finish i think no one will pay attention to himm ( almost 2 minutes ) but if no one react he can mak things worse

Well, Mancebo was 4th and 4th recently. Evans 2nd and 4th, was it? Sastre 1st and....4th? And if it wasn't for the knee injury `Contador could've won the double last year. He definitely would've at least been 2nd.
a good joke, he was beated by rolland(even if i like this rider) |
