Come on Alarcon! One more climb!
If I'm not in the break I've given up looking for my team's results. Also I'm disappointed that Zingle seems to have given up on the KOM points. I mean I know there are better climbers out there but a bit of heart would be nice.

Just one more stage to go, and what a race it has been. Alarcon was tipped for a podium, maybe, and looks like he might come out on top.
Had plenty of action away from the GC with Mohs taking a hatful of wins and some great moments/wins for the wildcards with Jaguar, in particular, taking a very nice win, which is, of course, a massive moment for a wildcard.
If we get promoted this is definitely a race we would be looking for a wildcard to enter. |

Really great to see Alcaron on the verge of pulling this out. Potentially a relatively rare situation of what I would characterize as a surprise GT winner.

Indeed, 5 stage wins in one GT (Mohs took 4) is something unbeliavable, it´s stunning success for my team! Now I´m waiting (while crossing fingers & praying) if he´ll survive last mountains and keep point jersey...

You really couldn`t keep the tension any higher, SN.
While the GC will prove a huge fight on the last stage, for me it`s less about Gomez Marchante but more about Krieger making it within the time limit or not.

You better give my team some stage points then.
Still waiting for a 3rd week Gomez Marchante action for example. |

Looks like Preidler stole that role for this GT

Just managed to look throw the stages after some busy time, really hope Hoogerland can snatch enough points in the last stage to win the KoM otherwise it´s to bad he couldn´t get in one or two breakaways early in the race. Would be really nice if he won that Great seeing Kreder get some top 10 places aswell.
Had hoped for Lövkvist to do a bit better but right this is ProTour.
Thanks for all the reports, looking forward for the last stage! |

While not a very exciting race from my team's perspective, it was a great Vuelta nonetheless. Huge congratulations to Smowz! I would never have predicted that at the beginning of the race.
I'm really going to need Amador to come up big for me now, since Nibali has been so underwhelming after his two biggest goals so far.
Thanks SN for all the reporting, two GT's back to back like that so quickly was something special.

Well, that's how to finish a race in style! Pretty cool picture from Alacorn there at the line, pretty much tells his story of the Vuelta. Gratz to Smowzy! Definitely one of only a few PT-managers, who i really wish some great races like that. Just kidding, but there is certainly some kind of connection between Oz and SRB, so just cool victory there!
Also huge job by SN, thanks for providing some great reports and racing. Also beagle, congrats!

Great result for Alarcon! Possibly the most remarkable result in Man-Game history?
Good race for Contador as well, but Tenorio disappointed slightly. You have to wonder if Santander's run of climbing success is over. Thanks for the great reporting SN, really admire your commitment and dedication |

Thanks SN for a great last stage report, Kunshin almost had it! A stage win and (I think) 17th in GC not bad at all.

ALARCON!!! SIMPLY RED BULL!!! *fangirl mode engaged* WOOOOOO!!!!
How much did he deserve and earn that win! Just amazing. It's taken too long for Alarcon to become a PT name but there it is, marked forever as Vuelta winner. A properly great moment. Credits to Simply Red Bull for taking him on and delivering him that win, great support work.
So happy for you smowz. (why yes i do have a favorite PT team )
And to SN - You are too good to us with completeing yet another GT. You, Roturn and tsmoha just keep this game at such a high level.

Thanks for those excellent reports SN.
Really a pleasure to follow.
Personally an ok Vuelta for me. Missing goal yes but just outside of top10. That said I was not able to get a single decent stage result, which means low points in general.
Krieger missing the cut sucks a lot. But he still was impressive.
Mohs making it is almost a miracle but as point leader something very nice.
Congrats to Smowz. Really happy for you and who would have expected to see Alarcon taking a GT. |

Alarcon, the moutain goat of PCT winning GT, how things changed.
What a shame for Machado, half a bike away from podium on the last stage. Bit unlucky.
What a race, thanks SN!

Man I was getting a bit emotional there as Alarcon went on the rampage, I was thinking have you gone too soon Jose. But he went with the way he has gone all race, rather than the other GC pussies who really sat and waited all race.
I have my doubts as to whether Jose could have had a better style of GT, the start list was about as weak as you could expect. It was an aligning of the moons and the super climber took it in Pantani esque fashion. So proud of him and his fairly modest support. mestre, morobito and Le Bon thanks for those deals guys .
Very nice to hear congrats save the most though for the reporters another nice report too SN. A galling race for Vesuvio, Swift was muted and last stage saw two abandons along with MOHs hanging on. To cap it off you have a feeling if Schleck had have been here he could have won his second Vuealta.
I was surprised Phinney edged out Madrazo at lat years Giro and again by Cunego rolling back the years at this time - I believed Jose had a chance with pcm13 as long as he didn't suffer a bad mountain day.
Thanks for bringing us the vuelta SN, I wonder how how we fly in rankings?

Big congratulations to Smowz! It's just brilliant to see Alarcon win something really big. I mean, a .HC win at Corsica and a home win in Venezuela for my Aker team were quite big, but admittedly a Vuelta win is quite another story
Well done!
And once again a big thank you to SN for all the work you've put in with both the Giro and the Vuelta, they've (as always) been a pleasure to follow.
2nd in the GC is great from Contador. Expected him to have trouble with the 84 climbers and Tenorio, thus it's a delight he comes away from it with a podium place in his last Grand Tour at his best. It's kind of a pity with all the breakaways thinking of overall points from the race, but 2nd place compared to 4th or 5th surely makes up for that
