Btw, stages 3 and 4 of the 2013 Giro included in the Preview version had a lot of water, so they were quite laggy. Better versions have been included in the Public Beta, but if you're still experiencing lags (especially with stage 4), it'd be appreciated if you could let us know about it

It's the Public Beta. The V1 will be released 1~2 weeks.

The Public Beta is the follow up version for the Preview (but to be clear, it's not a Preview -> PB update, it's a Expansion Pack -> PB = no matter whether you have or not the Preview installed, you can/should install this one for the 2013 DB to work).

Make sure that you have these two installed:
1. PCM.daily's Expansion Pack for Patch 1.3.0.0
2. PCM.daily's Expansion Pack for Patch 1.4.0.0.
Then install the Public Beta. And make sure that they are all installed to the correct folder. By default, the installation file points the files to be installed in the English foldername of the game (Pro Cycling Manager - Season 2012). If you have the game in another language, you should manually choose the installation folder (e.g. French version = Pro Cycling Manager - Saison 2012, Dutch? version = Seizonen 2012, and so on).

There's no preview of the helmets, frames and wheels.
That's intentional. It'd be too much work for us to make previews of all the files, especially since they're changed very often.

I just started a stage-race with the Tour. Just like in the preview database the frist stage had a LOT of lag.
As usual i have the graphic settings at a high level og when im playing the PCMD 1.4 database it runs really nice with no lags. So i tried to lower the settings dramatically to only 1 in every area, but it still had a lot of lag.
I played the stage to the end and will try to continue the Tour to see if it continues like that. This database is the only one that have ever brough lag into my game, but still this is by far the best database and would hate not to be able to play it! |

The problem is not in the DB, it's in the stages. I tried playing the 1st Tour stage today, and it indeed lagged a lot. I took a look in the editor, and the stage had half the map only of water, which explains the lag. In this case, you can put all your graphics to 0, and it'll barely help - the stage will still lag. I'll try to take a look at all stages to see which ones have this problem and ask their stagemakers if they could provide a better version

Sorry, my bad. I know its the stages and not the database... Hopefully the other stages are better, but if many of the other races, ex in career, also have a lot of water on the maps in editor it will be a loooong season!! |

No, you probably won't find it in many other races. The problem is that the TdF is done by the Community, and sometimes some less experienced stage makers try some stages and do mistakes (normal for a beginner) like this. Usually the full races are done by more experienced stage makers (requires more motivation as well to do a 7-day stage race than to do one stage only). And many races are still the same as the Expansion Pack (not many have got 2013 routes - 19 of them in the Public Beta) Lastly, if a stage is really unplayable, a last option is to disable water (temporarily) by editing an .xml file:

Hey,
I've the same problem as many other do. I've tried the normal install, the install with the original 1300 file to the mod/database folder and the one with the files posted by cruetrue. I still can't select any other databases than the official release.
Is there something else I can do? |
