What concerns me though is some of these nationalistic teams like Santander horde ownership rights of a number of riders. If they don't want to lose the rider fine, keep the guy and race him under the colours of Santander. Got too many riders for your wage cap - sell him you can still enjoy the riders results!
Yes, how dare I limit myself to Spanish riders, hence I evilly have found young talents, and refused to sell them until they maxed out. What a Bastard.
I've only played two seasons, and loaned out Madrazo for almost nothing this year, and have paid a million for his training. Wanting to get something back isn't irresponsible.

His original point was not to loan out maxed out riders. Madrazo isn't maxed so I assume he doesn't see the bad in that...
Imo I don't really care if I can loan/loan out riders maxed out. I haven't done that much anyway as I don't buy them if I can't afford them or intent to use them in that season if they are maxed out, so it seems to me it is a safetynet in having gone above salary cap and still having a good team. I can see both ups and downs in that, but all in all I don't care. I will use whatever rules are available to it's full extend, as most of you know.

Yeah I respect you keeping your word rjc, but i find it irrational not to deal at all with new recruits - that's not a case of not allowing anyone a second chance, that's no opportunity at all.
In the loans aspect i don't see the problem - the team that get the rider get him at a fair wage without having to pay transfer money/end up in a bidding war while the others retain him for the following year. It's an unstable way of building a team but it makes for an interesting game.
Maybe I went a little far there I do deal with new managers, once I've gotten over my horrible mood swings and hatred of any change. I sold riders to new managers last season.
I don't deal with certain managers due to their actions. That is all.
I agree with mb. He, like I did, found some excellent Spanish talents (I found D.Caruso and S.Ponzi), and he paid through the roof for them his first season. Through the roof to train them the end of that season, and still hasn't actually benefitted from them. I don't see why he should have to lose those riders. Sure, if he's over his cap come contract renewels, he's penalised - he knows that, we know that, it's his choice. Sometimes managers can't afford that punishment (take WIkipedia last season) and they lose nigh-on ALL their best riders. Other times they take the beat down (SN last season I think) and it works out ok for them.
In real life, if someone offers you a break, you ain't gunna turn it down, so why should you for a game, where some nice managers will offer you help. |

I thought it´s not allowed to pay for training before rider doesn´t reach full exp?

That was a rule for this season I believe. I think previously the training of talents was allowed, hence making some upcoming riders GREAT!

And it also caused what you complained about a while ago. Too many riders like Castano were trained to form the 40 odd riders with 80 mountain. |

I don´t think rules could have changed every season in such important matters...hopefully it won´t change back again

Well, it cost the same as training the stars. So Cunego went from 82 to 84 mountain for the same price as Madrazo went from 72 to 74, just Madrazo then improved afterwards

Training was introduced two seasons ago, and last season got a massive overhaul to increase the price.
It used to be that the better potential riders got a better increase than lower potential riders, for the same price. And that price was about 1 million for +2 to mnt (TT, Sp, CB or Hl) and +1 to the "back up" stat (rec, sta, res etc).
Nowadays it's more like the best riders can increase one stat for like 1-2million. Much more realistic and a fair amount to pay. |

About the transfer talk then I really don't understand why it's necessary to go against the rules, just to be a little bit better prepared for the upcoming transfer window.
I've personally found a couple of riders that I might be interested in, but that's about it. Instead have I focussed on which riders I want to keep and what direction I want to take this team in, but nothing is set in stone before the contract-renewal period has been complete.
Patience is the keyword here

To be honest, we didn't know it was against the rules ;-)
For me one of the reasons I wanted to do it is that last season my transfer season got pretty fucked up becuse of my trip to China. Also I'm changing sponsors/nationality so have to make some changes becuse of that, and generally players from free agents tend to have sick wages.
Anyway, wont do that anymore, but later if anyone got any german riders I might be interested in trades ;-)

I don't think I complained about the amount of trained riders, but I was questioning the amount of riders put into the game with those kinda stats.
And in fact I liked that you were able to train your talents also...

Then again SotD, you don't care about nationality, so it's all good
Beagle, we've fighted over riders before. I still regret that I won Brown :-p And then I think I wont send any offer for Mohs :-p
I were thinking about contacting you about him SotD, so maybe we can make a deal when we are allowed to (yeah, I sweared when I saw your story involving him, since that might make you not trade him :-p)
