This was pretty impressive. He just needs to avoid losing time on the winner and should be safe then. Etixx usually should be strong enough to keep him ahead of splits.
Seems to be just a perfect race for them. |

And for Terpstra especially
After a great 2014 effort he looks strong for another GC win, especially in these conditions, beating Cancellara and Wiggins in a TT (even though a short one) doesn't happen every day!

Terpstra for Hour record!
Just kidding, but still a great performance by him.

Nah mare, all you have to is to be a fairly decent time trialists these days anyways, wouldnt surprise me if he actually was able to beat it |

Great win for Terpstra and Etixx, powerhouse like him is ideal for this type of race, so no surprise really.

Good to have a fantastic Norwegian rider again after a couple of years of mediocrity. Looks to be a second great season for Kristoff this.
Sport freak. Mostly interested in Football (Liverpool, Rosenborg with more), increasing interest in cycling.
Also big Formula 1 fan. Ferrari <3

Kristoff taking another nice stage win in a mass-sprint, Sagan 2nd, Blythe taking Rojas' spot.

5 second time gap after Grivko, means that Bodnar is up to 6 seconds to Terpstra in GC.

A lot of wind again today. Shame that there is no live coverage that early.
In especially Bodnar, 2nd in GC, in big trouble at the moment.
About 30s behind.
7 Etixx riders in the front group extending the gap!
Trek obviously helped to open the gaps but now Cancellara is working in the 2nd group.

BMC and Katusha were close to gap Terpstra when they attacked with 5km to go and only Boonen and Van Keirsbruck plus Sagan/Bodnar/Blythe made it into the top group next to them.
In the end though it came together and Terpstra remains in the lead while Kristoff takes another stage. Same podium as yesterday.

Kristoff is in some amazing shape, ranking up the wins so early already. I guess nobody would be surprised if he repeated his MSR win.

Kristoff up to 3rd overall with the time bonus.
Sagan also working towards bettering his total of 11(ish) 2nd places from last year? Not that wins in E3, prestigious stage races and green at the TdF are to be sniffed at mind.

Wow, going to be a thrilling last stage there in Qatar. Didn't notice Bodnar was so close, and Kristoff is getting so fuckin' close too! I assume that with 3 intermediates+the bonuses for winning the stage Kristoff is still in for the win.
11 seconds mean that winning a stage won't be enough for the GC win, so I was wondering if the intermediate sprints are worth time bonuses?

3-2-1 seconds at intermediates. There are 2 sprints - one on the route in and the other on the finishing circuit. |

More like the Tour of Kristoff in stead of Tour of Qatar. |

5,5 km before the first intermediate Katusha caught the breakaway again.
So looking pretty good for Kristoff.
Edit: And indeed Kristoff taking the needed seconds. 2nd behind Boonen and Trentin. So Kristoff could take it by winning today.

Sam Bennett wins the last stage. Terpstra holds on to the GC.

Kristoff surprisingly far down in that sprint, what happened?

It was a quick sprint and IAM and Tinkoff were in an excellent position at the 180° corner.
All riders in a bad position at that point with 1-2km to go struggled to find a good wheel I think.
Plus Kristoff got a bit boxed in later but he would never made it onto the podium at that time anyway.
Surprisingly good result by Reguigui. And surprisingly weak result by Giant today. |
