I literally felt asleep while recording this, that's how boring the finish was. |

This is just insane.... its just one stage so far and the Vuelta is still long.
But a 42year old Horner smashes everyone even a 20year younger Nibali in full sprint.....
I am not saying something is fishy but either the cyclingsport is clean as newfallen snow or Horner has borrowed something from Froome.

When Nibali attacked, Horner was 40s ahead. And then at end Horner is 50s ahead.
For sports sake, I hope Horner is honest. |

Sooo, a rider without a contract for the next season riding almost unbelievably strong at the Vuelta. Where have I seen that before?

Great Horner...This is the win for all doubters who are writing off the older guys in peleton (Basso, Evans etc.) Age is not always the most important factor |

Uran blew up as well. 27th place, over 4 minutes back.
Even Henao dropped him in the end

Yeah I'm sure everyone who has ridden out on the roads has seen some tough riders 70+!
Really impressive from Horner I thought he would get a top 6. But in hindsight a much higher position was also reachable for him given his form in the last 3 years since he finished in the top 10 in the 2010 tour despite waiting up for Armstrong on a stage. |

Always nice to see the new future of the sport arise in the Vuelta.
Who is this Horner kid? 41? looking forward to see him win the Tour when he is in his mid 50'ies. Easy man |

Moving on... That climb was an absolute beast
Maybe that's because Nibali's attack was not so impressive. He barely gained 15 seconds on a group that was not riding because Valverde/Rodriguez were being total pussies again letting Pinot do all the work.
I think Basso could've gone with Nibali but that would result in Rodriguez/Valv wheelscuking their way back. so Basso said 'fuck you' |
