Once more Olivier/Bennett stay in the peloton instead of attacking like other weaker riders...
Losing once again 1'30 on Van Garderen surely wasn`t planned on such mountain top finishes. |

Too bad Gesink couldn't close the gap there. But 52 seconds is still less than what Pluchkin needs. Hopefully he won't get bigger gaps than that in the next mountains stages.

Good to see Velits being active and gaining on almost all his opponents! Both Sagan and Kolar not so good, but to see Velits already 7th is a really nice development. Keep it coming Peter!

Thank you for another quality report, roturn.
That was luckily much, much better from Guldhammer, and again he has a decent gap down to those outside the top 10. There should also be possibilites for climbing in the GC, but with TVG performing like this in the mountains, I'm not so sure. Hopefully Guldhammer can keep him in sight also after the two coming hilly stages, and also gain some time on his other rivals, as his stats suggest he should be able to do so on the hills.
First sign of minor weakness from Gesink, but he's still doing very well, and 6th on such a mountain stage is also a good result for him considering his MO stat.
And wow how Lecuisinier is doing well. 4th in GC with a solid gap down to Tenorio is very, very good. Cool to see such a talent already even fight for an overall podium.
Congratulations on the stage win, Avin! It has been a long wait... Hopefully it means Pluchkin is back to his normal level in the mountains here in the Vuelta. |

Disappointing race for us so far. Kudus not really threatening the top 10 overall and Seibeb's mountain jersey chances seem to have faded. |

Pluchkin has already won just as much as he did in the Giro that he dominated. Sounds so wrong

I really wonder how it's possible for Holst Enger to pick the right leadout again and again. Another huge result right there, going very well even being in the wind for a long time. Not much to do about Roelandts that came from behind, but no one else was able to challenge, and another second place and currently second in the points classifications as well is brilliant.
Congratulations on your second stage win, Crommy!
Really interested in seeing how the upcoming hilly stage will play out. Normally, with a downhill and flat finish, it should finish in a big sprint that even Holst Enger could contest. But on the other hand TVG is still in the top 10 overall, meaning he will probably use every possibility to gain more valuable time. Thus, some aggressive racing on every hilly stage there is, will be key for him, which should suit Gesink perfect as well.
Thank you for the report and nice pace, roturn! |

Wow, Guarnieri actually in a good position. Just a shame he went too early. Congrats to Crommy though, great win for Roelandts.
A pity with the crash, with so many big riders involved. Hopefully no injuries...

Some top notch reports as we are used to from you, roturn, thanks!
Also some stupendous performances from Machado. If it weren't for Gesink's out of the world gigantic gap he would actually be in contention for the overall win. It makes me really glad to have him side by side with MG legend Pluschkin! A final podium is well within reach now.
On the sprints side it's been pretty chaotic, but that is always fun. At least for us who don't have a man racing to the line

I don't understand why we're not joining breaks. We have no GC rider, no sprinter and our leader is in the hospital. We should be in the break every day...
Shame that Skujins crashed out as well.
Congrats to Bouygues!

Tejay in the form of his life apparently. Crazy stuff. At this rate he could get into the Top 5 of GC if he dominates the hilly stages like he has done twice now. Overachievement of the season?

Nice to see a screenshot finally with Poljanski in it. Looks like he is Skujins care-taker or something, so it's good to see him be of assistance. It is however crazy that TVG is doing so well and yet another stage of Gesink taking time on Pluchkin. What a race

Another hyper-active hilly stage, this vuelta is insane to follow as a neutral!
