Alexis Vuillermoz > Tinkoff.

Bryan coquard to ag2r wouldn't be good a move since this team is more about GC than sprints he won't have a good lead out if he goes there for sure. I don't see why Vuillermoz would go to tinkoff the guy is a French rider in a frenchie team and he did pretty good results this season.

French riders in french teams... hmmm.... why can't I think of someone who managed to unleash his full potential. There's too much hope and therefore too much pressure there. That's why Pinot and Bardet were so behind in the Tour at first despite making a good season before that. He's making the next step in his career and honestly I believe he'll be the leader in the ardennes classics over Kreuziger Wink

The pressure of French riders is only during the tour the France because it's their national tour so of course there would be pressure you're riding home in front of family, friends etc and the fans are expecting great results and that's understandable. Vuillermoz would have better role and freedom in ag2r than tinkoff quite honestly. There's just no way that tinkoff would give him the leadership in the classics

Why not he'd be the most talented guy in the ardennes classics in their roster. Nobody else can match him. If he's in shape he'll be the leader as he has more punch than Kreuziger. Wink

Sorry to ruin the fantasy talk guys but Vuillermoz has got a contract with AG2R to 2018 so he's going nowhere

Ok then. I just disagreed with Vuillermoz going to Tinkoff being viewed as a bad thing. Wink

It would be bad and I'm glad vuillermoz decided to stay with ag2r 3 more years. Look what happened to sagan and tell me if it was a good move for him ? He doesn't have full leadership to express himself

What happened to Sagan if I may ask. Leader in the classics and won the green jersey. Even at Cannondale he didn't have the best lead-out, so it's nothing new to him. The only problem was the weak shape he was during the spring. If he was in the shape of the Tour, I'm sure he'd have won a spring classic, I just have that feeling.

You're so wrong if you think he didn't have a better lead out with cannondale. What about Viviani ? He's a world class sprinter and he's far better sprinter than what tinkoff got right now to help Sagan. Sagan made one of the worst decision ever to go with a team orientated for GC when he's a sprinter there's no good lead out and no good classic men to help him and look what happen during the tour there was no one to help him and he was alone most of the time.

Look at the races where Sagan dominated both in Tinkoff and Cannondale, like Tour of California etc. He had the whole team working for him and placing him at the front. Sagan is allot like Kristoff in the sprints, he needs to be in front of the peloton when the sprint starts if hes going to win against the best sprinters.

Sagan does not need a leadout or a team built behind him to win the green jersey it seems but he wont win much with Tinkoff. But yes i really hoped he would go elsewhere. Going to Astana which would be allot of help for him in the classics with Boom and Bozic or if he stayed with Cannondale, the thought of Sagan and Navardauskas working togheter almost turn me on! Grin Unfortinatly they were not able to pay for him...

Cannondale had the money to resign sagan but it was his decision to leave team cannondale because he thought he would be more successful with tinkoff but sadly this is not the case so far and maybe it's only when contador leaves after 2016 he might take full control of the team. As for kristoff he's more a classic sprinter, like degenkolb, and sagan that's why it's always harder for them to win sprints. On flat stages, their sprints isn't strong enough and I noticed it a lot during the tour. Kristoff has always a tendency to start sprints early and that's what cost him the win last year during the last stage of the tour and this year also.

I think Vuillermoz is getting plenty of opportunities to ride for himself with the squad he is in and you can't find a better example of that than the Tour, Ag2r had GC leaders yet Vuillermoz was given a free role when the opportunity presented itself, who else at Ag2r does he have to compete with for freedom at the races that suit him? Betancur would be the only one that springs to mind but he has a long way to go to demand leadership. Also Sagan and Vuillermoz aren't a good comparisons, Sagan was given chances to lead because he has proven himself but wasn't quite there over the spring and he knew full well he would be on his own at the Tour where Vuillermoz is still yet to prove himself and I can't see a better squad than Ag2r for him to do that in seeing they lack riders who specialize in what he does.

Noway Cannondale could have offered Sagan what Tinkoff could, plus with the merger of Garmin and Cannondale I doubt Vaughters would of designed his entire Tour team around Sagan

It would be interesting too see what Uran could do with more backup in the Giro, as well he could do some work for Valverde in the Vuelta. I read some rumours that Uran is wanted by Cannondale as well....

Here's a couple other rumours floating around, some might be written on this site already but anyway....

Bryan Coquard > AG2R
Wouter Wippert > Cannondale.
Michal Golas > Sky. (Probably only too keep Kwiat with company)
Adrien Petit > FDJ.
Alexis Vuillermoz > Tinkoff.
Stefano Pirazzi >
Richie Porte > BMC (New Evans?)

I was thinking the same thing but i would assume they will get in two-three more sprinters or leadouts. And Europcar already confirmed they will let some of their bigger riders leave so i don't see it as totally unrealistic at least. His leadout can't be worse than he had in the Tour this year!! Grin

At the tour Coquard had one rider tasked to position him, if you watch the helicopter view of the sprint, that rider does incredible amounts of work positioning Coquard without managing to find him a wheel until the very end. Smile

Cycling Weekly seem to think Uran is certain to leave Etixx with Garmin-Cannondale his new home and Dan Martin going to Etixx https://www.cyclingweekly.co.uk/news/l...016-185327
Most of the rumours in there we already know about and some others such as Vuillermoz are mentioned so not sure how reliable the info is

Finally something we can agree on. Grin

Fuck that shit. Some of those rumors just seem like horse shit. mostly because it came out of nowhere, with no base, and Martin has been on Garmin for 8 years. They support him tremendously and built a team with him in mind. Why would they just let him leave?

Thats why I said that I wasn't sure about the reliability of the article but I thought at least i'd post a link to it instead of what some have done in this thread and just posted up the rumour.
On Dan Martin, just because he has been there for 8 years doesn't mean he should stay, they have offered him a contract but maybe he thinks its time for a move? I wouldn't be surprised if he stays or leaves to be honest. Uran has apparently been talking with Movistar and to me that move would make more sense than him going to Garmin-Cannondale.
This is why I love transfer season, so so so many rumours that for the majority are riders agents talking to the media just to help jack up the price of there rider in contract negotiations.

They've built their team around him and he has absolute freedom in everything he does at Garmin. Not to mention, Mullen is expected to sign as a stagiare with them.

If he leaves Garmin, I just can't root for him anymore. Don't know who I will root for then...

You can hope Dombrowski is cooking something in the Vuelta and starts to show potential again, otherwise it looks grim...

Doubt he's going to the Vuelta, I think he's going to be at USAPCC. it would make sense since he's taken over Danielson's role this year.

I think finishing it would be great for him at this stage and anything else would be bonus, it would be a great base going into next season and he's shown enough this year to suggest he can be around the mark on a stage or two
