Just by following twitter, todays Qatar stage seems to be really great. Lots of splits right after the start including galf of the sprinters, Valverde, Wiggins and race leader Rojas.

Unfortunately no live coverage for a while yet so fingers crossed there's still some (live) action to come. |

Well. I guess more likely sand storms than what we know as bad weather. |

Sounds like a very select group containing some of the Classics contenders is still being whittled down out front going into the last 20km.
Apparently Etixx with 3 of the 15 still standing in Boonen, Terpstra and Maes.

Other names apparently are Stuyven, Sagan, Rowe. Stannard, Blythe, Haussler in the small first group.
Would make Stannard, Boonen, Sagan and Terpstra best riders imo with this short time trial.

Kristoff takes it from a group of 12 or so. |

Guardini doing well to still be there in that company even if he couldn't finish it... |

Some huge gaps caused by the wind which will no doubt have an impact on the GC as most of the favourites got caught in the side winds.
A group containing Rojas, Bouhanni and Valverde arrived 3'18 mns after the winner. Demare more than 7mns. Cancellara about 9'30. Wiggins and Kittel 10mns. Lars Boom was over 20mns late. |

Sounds interesting, shame we didn't get to see any of it really but thankfully didn't hear of any serious crashes.

Sorry guys, it must have been me going out for a ride causing Rojas winning + Qatar's sandstorm.
Jokes aside, Tour of Qatar looking for once an interesting race to follow after what happened in the first two stages. Guardini is in great shape, hopefully he can keep it for most part of the season.
Same goes for riders like Moser that are looking for a redemption after 2 disappointing years, imo tainted by the poor roster at Cannondale.
On another note, Dennis looked particularly good during his Hour Record attempt, surely 100x more aware of what he was doing than Bobridge, definitely! He managed his energies as well as an experienced rider like Voigt did, great work!
Now it's going to be interesting to follow the other riders to attempt it - 52,5 km looks a quite interesting distance.

I saw an interesting chart showing how the various riders speeds varied over the Hour. Bobridge of course was highest early on before dopping off significantly.
Both Dennis and Brandle had similar maps, both getting notably slower in the 3rd quarter, Dennis was just a bit quicker all the time and slightly better managerd (he was apparently quite a way off his plan though).
Voigt is the anomaly. He started slow and got significantly quicker towards the end. The next persont to make the attempt i think should follow that a take it easier at the start and minimise the late drop-off because there is a lot of distance to gain in that final 20mins

Yes indeed, saw the same, I think that we're both talking about this:

Bobridge's attempt was more than a fail, I think that Dennis wouldn't ahve beaten it if the first one would have managed his energies decently.

Terpstra takes Tour of Qatar ITT ahead of Cancellara and Wiggins.

This was pretty impressive. He just needs to avoid losing time on the winner and should be safe then. Etixx usually should be strong enough to keep him ahead of splits.
Seems to be just a perfect race for them. |

And for Terpstra especially
After a great 2014 effort he looks strong for another GC win, especially in these conditions, beating Cancellara and Wiggins in a TT (even though a short one) doesn't happen every day!
