Timeloss today: Meintjes (MTN) +0.22, Dennis (BMC) +0.38, Betancur (AGR) +1.15, Pinot (FDJ) +1.17
Valverde in red. Should be a very interesting finale tomorrow, Degenkolb should be favourite, but Bouhanni can actually also climb decently as shown in Route du Sud |

2-3 years ago Stuyven and Bouhanni did both great in the GP Wallonie.
So I would expect both of them on tomorrows stage. |

Betancur -surprisingly- loses over a minute. Pinot also over a minute back
Actually a great performance there considering the fact that he is pregnant and he ended Vuelta a Burgos in the last place and lost almost 1 hout behind Quintana |

I thought Stuyven was a classics rider and not really a bunch sprinter, didn't expect to see him go for it today. |

A bit of both. Young version of Tom Boonen from 5-6 years ago.

Gatto, unlike Sagan, doesn't have contract for next year yet. |

More like Greg Van Avermaet, Stuyven is also pretty good on hills. |

Fatancur shows interest in the lantarne rouge it seems.
Debusschere and a grand tour still doesn't seem like a good combination, sad because he showed potential to become a decent sprinter. Luckily we still have Stuyven.
EDIT: Weird to have three posts in a row. Please someone say something, otherwise I feel like an asshole taking all of the comment section for myself.

To add content to this post, does someone have exact data for that final hill? From the profile it looks like even Degenkolb could be out of contention if Purito wants this and makes Moreno work.

Final hill is 1.5km @ 4.5% so I don't think Degenkolb can be ruled out.

Do you think Sagan will go for it tomorrow?
I can only convince myself that he is still pretty annoyed to not have won a GT stage this year and wants one. He might be preparing for the WC and abandon later, but a stage like tomorrow he has a real chance. His shape can't be that bad given that TTT?

So Pinot definitely isn't going for GC. Still, it's weird to lose time on this stage.
RIP Exxon Duke, David Veilleux, Double Feature, and Monster Energy

Why? If he isn't going for GC, why bother? Better save some legs for later, like Majka did on TdF. |
