The Secret Pro is either Kolobnev or Uran.
Most people don’t realise that Vino is actually a fantastic guy, and once you know him, that’s hard to look past. It’s hard to believe he’s a cheat because he’s actually unbelievably generous and kind.
Also nor Menchov nor Di Luca is the ex-GT winner he mentioned in his previous column.

I promise it's neither.
According to CN forum it's Koen de Kort, but it obviously hasn't been confirmed.

He clearly says he is in the Dauphine now. De Kort isn't.

Froome?

So, how many former GT winners are still active today ?
Cunego, Valverde, Basso, Contador, Scarponi (if you consider he won the Giro 2011), A. Schleck (same : TDF 2010), Hesjedal, Cobo, Wiggins, Nibali.
I guess that's all. So, who'd be the winner ?
Cobo was the most blatant walking (cycling) positive test I've witnessed in a long time... I'm surprised he hasn't been caught yet.
Not that I trust any of the others anyway.
Cunego, Valverde, Contador, Scarponi, Hesjedal and Nibali are still riding and performing decently, so I'd rule them out, although as the secret pro mentioned, there'd be rumours (that I didn't hear/read) of a positive by Nibali after/during the Giro.
Schleck is only improving, so I rule him out too.
Rest : Wiggins and Basso. Are they hiding or are they really injured ? |

Evans and Garzelli. Garzelli retired but he called him out in the article.

I'll be shocked if it's Wiggins. The UCI would never let that happen.
Basso on the other hand wouldn't surprise me even slightly. I've had a feeling it would be him ever since the previous blog entry was posted.

Are you sure about Menchov? That's not how I read it, but I could be wrong.

There have been worse (our dear giallo fluo guys to take an obvious example), but yeah, Cobo must be on the luckiest guys around, they couldn't catch him back in 2008 and neither in 2011. Incredible.

For the 427 billionth time: The secret pro is Simon Clarke
He knows what he's talking about when he talks about Scinto, he rode for him. Same with Vinokourov and Nibali
EDIT: Of course that doesn't mean he can't be full of shit about certain things

I came to that conclusion aswell. Only other aussie to have worked for Vino is Davis. That would've been a good joke

Not sure actually, seeing his spring classics blog.

Can't be someone riding for Greenedge if he's wearing a Giro helmet

"We're" appears to relate to the general peloton in that context. |

Yeah, after re read it after Kumazan's post. He seems to mean that there is another reason for Menchov's retirement but his knee problems.

Not the right way to prepare the world championship which is his main season goal (the road race that is). Plus no (welll only a small) chance for him to take yellow, although he doesn't even care about TT's anymore
