Don't rule out Joaquim Rodrigues. Katusa is focusing totally on TdF. They even rested Daniel Moreno, so that he could help JRod in mountains. Plus Menchov will help too. And JRod has been working on his TT a lot, which he has not done in past. He was using Mercedes F1 GP wind tunnel, last month for aerodynamic position testing.
If you look at Nibali, who worked very hard with his positioning and recon of the TT stage in the Giro, he was still 11 seconds behind Wiggins who had a bike problem.
The fact that talks against JRod is he was a worse TTer than Nibali. Froome and Conta have almost a identical TT which is slightly worse than Wiggins.
But maybe if he gets a big gap of about 1.5 minutes he can defend himself in the TT
Froome better TT-er than Conta !
Remember, Froome has magically become the best Stage racer in the world since last year.
I think TdF will be 3 horse battle between Froome, Contador and J.Rodriguez.
Yes currently Froome is much, much better than anyone and most likely to win the TdF. But you cant simply rule out Contador.
He has won 7 out of last 8 GT he has participated. Now people will say about disqualification and all, but fact that he won and has been consistent. When he came back last year nobody expected him to be up there, but he won due to his consistency. Its not over yet. |

That's irrelevant. What matters is how good he is now. Otherwise Petacchi would be winning every sprint, based on past ability.

Contador will still be top3 at the Tour, hard to see it otherwise. But Froome level? Doubt it,maybe with whole bus of steaks.

Maybe if we can get an admin here. Can we met a bet here? Admin come help us. And with Farrar's odds I will take tons.

Van Garderen in the front group. Acevedo , Deignan not. Sprinters in front group are Sagan, Farrar, Matthews, and Hushovd, so no problems for the them,. 18 men in front by 40 seconds.

Rogers and Busche up front as well.
Puncture for Farrar now, very unfortunate.

I really hope NetApp pull this back. I want Craddock to do well, and with the TT he may even Top 5.

Candelario only non-WT rider at the front?

Yup, no surprise as he was sitting at the back all day both yesterday and the day before

Frank, who was supposedly in that group another two minutes down, just got classified as being in the chase group. Plus, Busche isn't mentioned to be in the front group anywhere even though he is.
Not 100% reliable concerning single riders, it seems.

Why is Orica riding in the front group??. So what Matthews is there, just stay with him and help him in the sprint even if the peloton comes back.

Really? :-o I hadn't know that. I was just going by his improving climbing ability and proven TT ability. He was still 9th going into today though, so I guess he finished in the bunch yesterday.
I wonder if its just inexperience or of somethings affecting his performance.
