Indeed, it will be great to watch. But I wouldn't rule out Dekker either. Abal might suffer in the hills, I'm afraid. Even though so far he's slapping me in the face for claiming he is not good enough for a top 5 here.
I just hope Gesink back up stats will come in handy in his battle with Amador.
But I'm sure the battle for the third place on the podium will be overshadowed by the red jersey battle!

Cuming in a break - good.
Nothing else happened for Good Energy - bad.
Report - exceptional.
Pluischin winning - about time.

Pluichkin finally producing something, though he was nearly caught at end by Amador... Typical PouPou not the decisive blow. Gesink, Cunego and flatnose caught with cycling shorts in peepee position.
It is galling to see vuillermoz in KOM chance the red bull boys invisible again.
Now to see fucking Guerao not sprint over and over.

Shit, fuck, crap and bullshit!
Why do we have to put Koretzky in the fucking breakaway on a stage like this when we have 3 perfectly suitable riders that could contend the KOM jersey and the stagewin!?
Lecuisinier fucking up big time here effectively losing sight of Pozzovivo, but even worse getting overtaken by Monsalve aswell. Even shitty Valverde are now close to overtaking his position in the GC.

Keinath 63th with 11 minutes of loss? Hopefully he´ll recover in next flat stages and show something in third week.
Good news is whole sprint train survived this tricky stage, their condition is a big mistery though.

Guldhammer seems to just be rock solid, always avoiding those disastrous days in the mountains. He did it for the whole Giro, and he's at it again here, which is great to see! He definitely strengthened his 9th place overall, and suddenly Cunego and Phinney are within reach if they have more of those very bad days. Though, Kritskiy might be a danger from behind.
Congratulations to Avin! Pluchkin showing his intentions, and going purely by stats, he's no doubts the favourite to claim the overall. Though, three flat stages to go through first, hopefully at least one of them will be a breakaway party where we've a rider in the right move.
Speaking of breakaway, good to see Dyrnes go for it, but admittedly the wrong rider on such a stage with Stake Laengen, Hoem and Sørtveit being here.
Thanks for another solid report, tsmoha! |

Good to see Tenorio actually attacking. Unfortunate that he lost time to Pliuchkin in the end. Top 2 is looking better and better though, which is what i'm hoping for. It'll be hard to keep Pliuchkin from winning.

Perfect
Finally a stage win fro Pluchkin in the high mountains and valuable gap to Tenorio. It was looking even better for a while, but Aleksandr maybe saved some energy in closing metres and the gap dropped down. Still nice to tighten the gap in GC to 37 seconds, setting up a thrilling plot for the brutal last week.
Now the much neede rest for the GC guys, i just hope that we wont see any fun ruining break into top3, or fall of the GC favourite.
Thanks for the report!

Definitely a much better stage for Dyrnes! A good try as well, and I prefer to see him go for the win like that instead of waiting for the sprint and get second or third. That seemed to come down to timing with Hivert able to solo away, not much to do about it.
Hopefully we'll continue trying in the upcoming stages, no doubts today was encouraging.
Congratulations CrueTrue! It's a remarkable Vuelta in the making for Hivert, that's for sure. |

Pluchkin with a points lead.
Now i can actually praise stupid breakaway AI, because it helps to steal the major points from Swift. Now two more large breakaways please, but without a GC favourite.
Thanks for a report and congrats CT!

Gah, chase the damn breakaway down. Would be very frustrating for Swift to only end up with 1 Vuelta stage win, like last year - particularly as he is clearly riding well.
Vesuvio almost completely absent on the climbs. Suaza at least tried a mid-stage move but soon fell away.

Pathetic AI.
Still 2 chances for Mohs left, but I´m not very optimistic.

...red bull Vuelta disaster continues...
Meanwhile break nabs it. Could be key points for Orange come the end of the year.
Swift misses out on stage win bad for Vesuvio pretty much good for rankings rivals.

As soon as I saw Borges in the breakaway and crosswinds I knew it was going to survive. But yet again Borges can't finish it off, this is like the 3rd or 4th time this season. He needs to work on his finishing kick.

Hmm, these breakaway wins in sprint stages suck...
