Congratulations once again to beagle! Pokerstars look unbeatable on flat stages, with Avelino probably just being the exception that confirms the rule.
Safe stuff from Contador and our team. Just one more stage before we're back to the mountains, which I can barely wait for |

I guess at least Levi will be happy that Steele Von Hoff gets some experience.
Otherwise a bad Vuelta for us and we will probably hide in the back of the peloton for the rest of the stages it seems.

Argh so close! Well at least that is my third podium place of the season sorted out, still looking for that elusive win though.
And I'll say it again - Zingle has been the bargain of the season. I am worried about his wage for next year though.

Nice to see Rafal in the mix there.
This is turning into a really good Vuelta for 1t4i.

the break take it then, not too surprising there very close for Bpost to break their duck. A useful little bonus for VW getting the stage win.
pleased to see Alarcon so attentive, now he needs to hold his form in the mountains. I feel as if Contador is looking hungry - time for Alarcon to put him in his place on Bolo del Mundo.

Nice to see one of my riders in the breakaway but once more the wrong rider.
This way my riders uses to get the last spots in the group and no big points which is unfortunate.
That said, I would have had prefered to see another sprint stage with Krieger fighting for a top10.

I'm not big fan of (unfortunately) quite often situation, when chasing peloton just stop their effort once they have breakaway on sight. Nice win for VW though.

Cool to see VW-Mapei get the win, congratulations Heine!
And great to be done with another flat stage, now it's all about the mountains again.
I can only cross fingers Contador is ready, but as it stands now, Alarcon is the big favourite for the overall win, as it's hard to imagine anyone gaining time on him on the proper mountain stages. I actually expect him to distance the others, considering the leader's jersey bonus, but we shall see.
Thanks for the report, SN! |

Kriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiizek! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
Too bad he's only on loan. Great for the team anyway, I can't remember if I won any stages in TDF last year? If so I now have a stage win in evry GT.

This was a good effort by Gomez Marchante to come back to the group. Unfortunately he lost time to Valverde and did not gain enough on Kohl.
So top10 will be really difficult but it`s still close.
Next stage Olivier/Bongiorno should join the group though as a stage win or good stage results is missing for me yet and this makes it a rather low pointer so far.
It`s btw. a great fight for the Lanterne Rouge as well. Unfortuantely I think it will be decided by the time limit. Would love to see Krieger taking it.
After 2 seasons without any climbers in my team more or less, it`s really great to see my jersey fighting in those kind of stages and getting some mentions. I hope in future I will have an even stronger mountain squad, which can fight for the winning spots.

Fantastic - I like the teams tactic of not really chasing the breaks. Though of course here it may well have yielded more points. This is the right move though for the final stages in general.
Delighted to have put real daylight into all rivals. Particularly Tenorio and Machado who would be biggest dangers in that Mountain Chrono. Realistic aspirations to win this Vuelta at the moment - another mountain stage on 17 before things get really squeaky bum.
Congrats to Heine on a second stage win a couple of teams really getting some fortune in this Vuelta Pokerstars, VW and at the moment SRB!

This looked like it would be Machado's first good day in the mountains, but that was not to happen. Even though he seemed to have the legs, his timing wasn't right. Fully deserved leadership for Alarcon, though. This has been a magnificent race for him so far, and it's looking ever more likely he will Simply take the red jersey home.
Let's see how the MTT goes. Most of our hopes at a podium place reside there.
Exciting report SN, congrats on that

This is really great for my team. We went into the Vuelta not really expecting anything, but my Austrians are earning their wage now. Preidler was a cheap pick-up 2 seasons ago who has gotten some nice results every season. Would be great if he somehow ends up with the KOM and a stage win.

Alarcon is looking invincible!
Contador's performance is once again solid, and he's currently looking good in the fight for second place, but as Smowz said, the MTT is likely to suit Tenorio and Machado very well, which most likely means he can't afford to lose any time at all on the coming mountain stages, which will probably be hard considering the mountain stat.
Thanks for the report, SN! |

Wow.
What a strong performance of the whole team. Did not expect that and thought what are they doing there while reading.
But GM with a strong attack then.
Go go go. |

Great stage for our team, shame of Roche´s poor placing before sprint. 3rd is still good, though. As SN mentioned, Mohs can lose point jersey only if OTL happen, which is great. Still, I fear of last stage, where everything can happen.
For more thrilling finale, I´m glad Alarcon finally showed some kind of weakness. Bad day only or first strike of his poor backup stats?
Regarding to tomorrow´s last chance for sprinters, I´m afraid break will make it once more. Of course, I wouldn´t mind to be wrong.
Thanks for another thrilling report, SN!

Strong riding by Vysna and Rujano as well! Nibali could even now be catchable. Great report it was, SN.
