Right click the file -> Properties (should be the last option in the menu), then there'll be an (unchecked) box "Read Only".

still not working
hi!

CrueTrue
Well, that's the solution. You must be doing something wrong, so try again, read what we said, and make sure you're doing everything as described.

The dj 12
Team Cykelcity should really be included in the db it´s one of Scandinavias best teams. They were ranked as scandinavias second best team. This might be the wrong thread but I didn´t know were else to put it.

If it's a bug, it's not with everyone, because it worked fine here. I don't really know how to understand log files, but perhaps those who do could see the problem if you posted the last lines of your log file after the crash? (the log file is "Pro Cycling Manager 2012" text file in My Docs/PCM12).

why during the races the rider don't have the bike and the helmet?

Wrong installation (read the instructions).

Please stop being so arrogant, and try to be helpful. I have the same problem, and the database is 100% sure installed correctly (fyi, I'm an IT-professional, and I'm already busy with databases since Cym3). In the meantime, I already found out that you'll get this problem, because PCM is overwriting the Local.cdb automatically. Now I have to find out why. I already saw a comment that it was due to an incorrect version of PCM, but also there, my version is up-to-date with all patches. And I also saw a "solution", but putting the file on read-only didn't help, as PCM still could overwrite it. If I can find the solution, I'll post it here, but please, do not give that stupid standard reply all the time...

Luigi is right. The local.cdb has nothing to do with bikes and helmets showing up in 3D races. That problem only appears if the file hasn't been installed to the right folder.

And rather than calling one of the forum's most helpful members for 'arrogant', please consider that the same questions are being asked 1000 times. The people involved in this project has spent countless hours making the database, yet people can't be bothered to check just 1 or 2 pages back to find the solution to their problem.

So in some cases, the answer we give does become shorter than previous answers, but it's still helpful and has nothing to do with arrogance.

As for your finding, we came to the same conclusion on one of the previous pages. It does seem like that the Steam version of the game overwrites the Local.cdb of the PCM.daily DB. The read-only trick seemed to work for some, but as I don't have the Steam version myself, it's difficult to find a more permanent solution.

So if the local.cdb is not the problem, what is the problem then? All other files are installed correctly, especially as I did it manually to make sure that it would install everything in the right folder. (And let me be arrogant now, I'm sure everything is installed correctly Wink)

Ok, my bad, was a bit too hard on him, but I don't agree with your quote that says that the answer is on a previous page, as for this problem, it isn't. For that reason, I didn't agree with his quote that his installation was not good...

I have a non-steam version, so I would look for the problem elsewhere (Win7 perhaps?)

If your problem is that there's no bikes in 3D races, I can assure you that having a correct Local.cdb makes zero difference. The only possible explanation is that the bikes/equipment are simply not in the correct folders.

If you have this problem, I'd like to see your equipment folders and the main PCM folder.

Can't be Win 7, as it works fine at my end (Win 7 Enterprise). My experience says incompatibility between patch and database, but I'm guessing you have 1.2.0.0? I really don't know.

I have patch 1.2.0.0 indeed. Only thing I noticed now, is that the patch indicate it is an upgrade from 1.0.0.0, but I had the third patch installed, so maybe it is this? (Just guessing in order to find a solution for all of us. Is it possible? How do you have your installation?)

Ai, can't show you that anymore, as I just deleted PCM, and I'm now installing it again, and I will only apply Patch 1.2.0.0. In some minutes, I'll inform you if it is better or not Wink

Btw, I have Win7 64-bit. Maybe it's the 64-bits that's causing problems? (Again, jusqt hoping that 1 stupid guess will give us the answer)

Aragorn
Ok CrueTrue, I still don't get the wheels or helmets. What I did was:

1) Remove PCM completly
2) Reinstal PCM
3) Install Patch 1.2.0.0
4) Apply the PCM Daily update

Now I will test two more things:

a) I started a career with an existing team => I see the bikes & helmets
b) I started a career with a custom team => I don't see the bikes & helmets

So I guess we will have to look at the custom teams as the source of the problem!

And as you asked, in attachment, you'll find the 3D folder. I hope you'll find the problem (and the solution)

There's a rather simple explanation to that issue: You didn't pick any equipment prior to the race.
