I love PCM simulation
Vaitkus just won the Tour of Langkwai for me!
1'00 break on the first mountain stage
then a 59" break on a random flat stage
won by 43"
and the kom jersey too

Why? No wins in the Ardennes classics and a few second places......

He clearly doesn't have a strong Ardennes leader, because if you can win all three GT's and all Cobbled races then he must be doing something right.

the quote button doesn´t work for me but I will try and answer anyway.
I got NIbali and Gesink in a honest way. I got a lot of money the first two seasons thanks to experience (didn´t win as much as in 2015. So I could offer those guys a big contract.
about moving to extreme. yes that has been something I have thought about, yes
about the ardennes classics: I don´t really like the steep uphill sprints. I had a question in another thread how to do it in the best possible way. TT, cobbles, mountains and breakaways are my specialties, but I´m not so good in the ardennes classics.
And I also don´t think it´s worth paying a rider 50000 euros or more a month just to be in shape for three or four big races and some random stages. I could play with Gesink on those classics, but I rest him completely after tirreno so he can be in shape for july and the rest of the year.
I could play with Nibali as well, but I don´t want him to peak so early instead of the giro.
another reason I don´t have a rider for the ardennes is because in 2015, Gilbert is still almost unbeatable with 85 in HILL. And he is very expensive.

What % boost does extreme give the AI riders and hard too for that matter?
Some nice results above
I'm finding it a about right on hard atm - wins are tough but very rewarding. Can't see myself getting a sniff at extreme right now but wonder how much of a percentage difference it amounts to anyway. |

Hard = 102,5% of stats for AI riders
Extreme = 105%

Ah thanks very much. Doubling the advantage would be too much for me, sticking to hard. |

Well purely in stats term, it looks something like that btw.
Hard - +2 on every stat for all AI riders.
Extreme - +4 on every stat for all AI riders.
But well, extreme isn't as tough as it looks. Except maybe in sprints which is usually the hardest discipline to get good results on extreme from my experience.

Btw, if you think Hard is quite easy but extreme is too hard, you can change the boost of stats that the AI has in the Local.cdb.

Edit gene_f_refcaraccoeff in STA_race_difficulty on the Local.cdb. Some story writers (cof Pellizotti cof) used it to play on + Extreme

I don't think the fast editor is able to edit the Local.cdb. Try the Full Editor.

Ok, guys, thanks 4 info about extreme extra %.
I've been playing PCM last 4 years (from 2008 edition). Being a real pro and fan of cycling every year I create my own database with attributes of cyclists. I play on extreme level and in previous editions I could win everything including GT. In this one it's really extreme.. Yeah, it's possible to win GT in career mode with perfect fitness and strongest team but if we choose just stage race mode? Of course with same 89 fitness. Did anyone win GT in PCM 2011 on extreme level? Cause I start thinking that something is wrong in my actions.. |

Ooh, and question about sprints (exclude career mode). Have problems even to start my sprint due to lack of red bar. Despite high flat attribute of sprinters, they are really died in the final. Again extreme level, 89 fitness.

The cyanide PCM 2012 youngrider carac files work well with PCM 11 as well. I'm in my 4th season with Saxo Bank ('11 DB) and I found my most brutal talent ever.
Suisse rider Rene Isaak. I contracted him when he won the Giro delle Regione as 19-year old. Usually you see 22/21 year olds winning so I knew he must be good. He had amazing base stats already. Ofcourse, he could've been a potential 5/6 and been almost at his limit like my American rider Van Ness (good start, but potential 6 and limited to 76 MO and 77 TT).
But no Isaak had a lot of stars and I think he's a potential 8.
Now in his first year, he grew, within 5 months(!) at 0.3 growth rate (!!) to the following
Flat 72
Mountain 78
Hills 72
TT 75
Prologue 66
Cobbles 52
Sprint 64
Acceleration 55
Endurance 68
Resistance 68
Recuperation 77
Downhill 63
Attack 62
PCM average 77
I gave him a Giro/Vuelta schedule, with the idea of going for stage wins. But with his amazing growth he is already 2nd favorite according to the startlist. The Giro field is pretty weak though with Ulissi and Cataldo as other main favorites. Cataldo won it last year, Ulissi won best young rider jersey.
Isaak is just 19 but just as good in climbing, and his time trial is better. Only the hills might be his weak point, as well as low resistance/stamina. 250+ stages could be killing.
But we'll see..
19 years and already this good. He can win MANY grand tours |
