Tour de Beauce: Stage 2
My Plan: Today is a hilly stage, its possible that the favourites will attack but I think it could go down to a sprint. I just want to stay out of trouble and basically stay hidden if I can.
The BOTD had a max of 7 minutes, but they really turned up their speed in the finale, as they almost stayed clear. But they were brought back. Still some did manage a Top 10 in the sprint because all the sprinters were dead tired from the peloton having to chase so hard at the end, and the little climb really hurt them.
In the sprint I took out a huge lead, but then the real sprinters and puncheurs came and I just about collapsed after I crossed the line. That was the longest sprint I've ever done, but its my 2nd straight win!

You know there's not a strong sprinting field when Paulinho and Brajkovic is third and fourth Anyways: YAY A SECOND WIN

What, how can you say Paulinho isn't a great sprinter after what he did in the Tour last year against Kryienka.
But yeah, two wins for David. |

Thanks, if I get another win soon, I might change to extreme.
Also the climbers were at the front and some of the sprinters like Fischer caught up in the end, coming past almost 30 riders.

I read all the 11 pages untill now! Keep up the good work, it's nice to see you win at this point. I don't know if you have to go to extreme because the other competitors weren't they "huge" and I think it was just well deserved!
I hope you'll soon get better in "one" statistic so you could compete more at one type of race, like hills or maybe TT so you should be able to win smaller stage races!
Anyway! Keep up, i'll keep reading!

Tour de Beauce: Stage 3
My Plan: Today is probably the descisive stage of the tour so I want to survive today, wtih the leaders jersey. Unlucky for me, Jani Brajkovic is here with his strong Radioshack squad and look like a shoe-in for the stage win. I'm hoping I can atleast hang on with Brajkovic assuming he's out of form and then I can get time back in the TT or the two remaining stages afterwards. And of course the better results I get the better chance I have of a PT team noticing me.
Today's break contained 14 riders, all of whom were atleast 6 minutes back on the GC so were allowed to go freely.
Then on the final climb after a strong push by the Shack boyz Jani accelerated and Tschopp followed. I was unable to match that speed and waited for the next moves afterwards which went almost immediately. I joined Dan Martin and Efimkin. Also notice the transvestite spectator.
Brajkovic leaves Tschopp behind and wins it in the sprint. He had an extra gear today and should be the favourite to win the race from here.
Here I am crossing the line a minute or so back of Brajkovic. Not a horrible day for me. Maybe I can get some time back on the weaker TTers ahead of me?
Stage:
Rank | Name | Team | Time | 1 | Janez Brajkovic | Team RadioShack | 4h01'03 | 2 | Johann Tschopp | BMC Racing Team | + 18 | 3 | Charles Wegelius | UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling | + 45 | 4 | Danny Pate | HTC - Highroad | + 1'15 | 5 | Dan Craven | Rapha Condor - Sharp | s.t. | 6 | Matthew Busche | Team RadioShack | s.t. | 7 | René Mandri | Endura Racing | + 1'45 | 8 | Alexander Efimkin | Team Type 1 | s.t. | 9 | David Veilleux | Team Europcar | s.t. | 10 | Daniel Martin | Team Garmin - Cervélo | s.t. |
GC:
Rank | Name | Team | Time | 1 | Janez Brajkovic | Team RadioShack | 11h56'35 | 2 | Johann Tschopp | BMC Racing Team | + 18 | 3 | Charles Wegelius | UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling | + 45 | 4 | Danny Pate | HTC - Highroad | + 1'15 | 5 | Dan Craven | Rapha Condor - Sharp | s.t. | 6 | Matthew Busche | Team RadioShack | s.t. | 7 | David Veilleux | Team Europcar | + 1'45 | 8 | René Mandri | Endura Racing | s.t. | 9 | Alexander Efimkin | Team Type 1 | s.t. | 10 | Daniel Martin | Team Garmin - Cervélo | s.t. |

'a minute or so' = 1'45 lol
Well, Veilleux again with a nice performance for his level against such riders. It was very hard to keep the leader jersey, but he did his best. I believe he might move some positions up after the TT, and of course hope for that =)

Tour de Beauce: Stage 4 (TT)
My Plan: To ride my fastest (obviously), and show everyone my number one skill, which is Timetrialing. I feel great today, probably because of the fantastic weather Quebec has been getting, so I think I can put in a strong ride.
Van Garderen is the first of the real favourites to set off, and he sets the fastest time of the day.
I'm the 7th last to go but I nearly finish before Brajkovic goes so thats alright. I put in a good time and took 5th place on the stage, which is quite a great result for me.
Then Brajkovic goes. You can just tell how fast he's going, the camera can barely keep up. He sets the fastest time and bumps me down to 8th after Rosseler and Pate both squeeze ahead of me. Still 8th is pretty good for me and I'm happy with the result.
Stage:
Rank | Name | Team | Time | 1 | Janez Brajkovic | Team RadioShack | 14'22 | 2 | Sébastien Rosseler | Team RadioShack | + 14 | 3 | Tejay Van Garderen | HTC - Highroad | s.t. | 4 | Taylor Phinney | BMC Racing Team | + 17 | 5 | Sérgio Paulinho | Team RadioShack | + 20 | 6 | Frantisek Rabon | HTC - Highroad | s.t. | 7 | Danny Pate | HTC - Highroad | + 23 | 8 | David Veilleux | Team Europcar | + 24 | 9 | Laszló Bodrogi | Team Type 1 | + 27 | 10 | Sep Vanmarcke | Team Garmin - Cervélo | + 29 |
GC:
Rank | Name | Team | Time | 1 | Janez Brajkovic | Team RadioShack | 12h10'57 | 2 | Johann Tschopp | BMC Racing Team | + 1'06 | 3 | Charles Wegelius | UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling | + 1'18 | 4 | Danny Pate | HTC - Highroad | + 1'38 | 5 | Matthew Busche | Team RadioShack | + 2'06 | 6 | David Veilleux | Team Europcar | + 2'09 | 7 | Dan Craven | Rapha Condor - Sharp | + 2'10 | 8 | Daniel Martin | Team Garmin - Cervélo | + 2'26 | 9 | Sérgio Paulinho | Team RadioShack | + 2'34 | 10 | Sébastien Rosseler | Team RadioShack | + 2'54 |

Oh, just 3 secs behind Busche, but a very good result (and race, in general) for Veilleux. There aren't any stage that could change the overall right now, right?
Btw, nice use of the blur effect in TT, only pity that the game also blurs the rider =P

Good results both in the mountain stage and the TT. 9th on Mont Megantic is good for a rider with the mountain stat that David has. A solid performance in the TT and also a nice place in the GC. Very good performance here in Canada from David.
Also, I agree with lluuiiggi that the screenshots in the TT looks good with blur on. Great work.

Thanks, glad you like the motion blur, I was testing it out. I find it really annoying tbh but during a TT its bareable.

Tour de Beauce: Stage 5
My Plan: Today is a long circuit through the city of Quebec, where I want to try and gain some time back on Brajkovic. I'm thinking my days in Europcar are just about over.
Today's break containing Peterson, Anthony and Nielsen.
Peterson attacked late in the stage and manages to pull out a gap on the other guys, winning the stage for his Garmin team.
I couldn't escape the pack so I stayed inside and sprinted for the line.
Stage:
Rank | Name | Team | Time | 1 | Thomas Peterson | Team Garmin - Cervélo | 5h07'13 | 2 | Danny Pate | HTC - Highroad | + 48 | 3 | Charles Wegelius | UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling | s.t. | 4 | Alexander Efimkin | Team Type 1 | s.t. | 5 | Johann Tschopp | BMC Racing Team | s.t. | 6 | René Mandri | Endura Racing | s.t. | 7 | Tejay Van Garderen | HTC - Highroad | s.t. | 8 | Janez Brajkovic | Team RadioShack | s.t. | 9 | Dan Craven | Rapha Condor - Sharp | s.t. | 10 | Daniel Martin | Team Garmin - Cervélo | s.t. | 11 | Sérgio Paulinho | Team RadioShack | s.t. | 12 | David Veilleux | Team Europcar | s.t. | 13 | Andres Pereyra | Jamis - Sutter Home | s.t. | 14 | Sep Vanmarcke | Team Garmin - Cervélo | s.t. | 15 | Murilo Fischer | Team Garmin - Cervélo | s.t. |
GC:
Rank | Name | Team | Time | 1 | Janez Brajkovic | Team RadioShack | 17h18'58 | 2 | Johann Tschopp | BMC Racing Team | + 1'06 | 3 | Charles Wegelius | UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling | + 1'18 | 4 | Danny Pate | HTC - Highroad | + 1'38 | 5 | Matthew Busche | Team RadioShack | + 2'06 | 6 | David Veilleux | Team Europcar | + 2'09 | 7 | Dan Craven | Rapha Condor - Sharp | + 2'10 | 8 | Daniel Martin | Team Garmin - Cervélo | + 2'26 | 9 | Sérgio Paulinho | Team RadioShack | + 2'34 | 10 | Thomas Peterson | Team Garmin - Cervélo | + 2'43 |

Tour de Beauce: Stage 6
My Plan: So its the final stage of the race and of course I want to win. If I am going to win, I will probably have to attack from very far out and hold a big lead. I think this will be very possible for me, because I can ride a good TT so once I get away, I just TT to the line. Of course a 6th is still a very good result and if I cant get any time I would still be happy with the result.
So a very large break gets free on the final stage most likely to redeem all the teams that failed at their original goals and must now redeem themselves with a single stage win. Jeremy Powers, Ryan Anderson, Eric Schildge,Jesse Anthony, Casey Munro, Kyle Wamsley, James Williamson, Laszló Bodrogi, Matthew Jones, and Lee Davis are the breakaway riders, the most dangerous being Lee Davis.
[i]On the very final hill I attacked and gained a 30 second gap with Tschopp and Wegelius, but it was too late to win now, I was going for time on Brajkovic.
And Jeremy Powers the best Cyclocross rider on the American circuit, wins a road stage. And the peloton eventually made it back to my group and no timegap was made.
Stage:
Rank | Name | Team | Time | 1 | Jeremy Powers | Jelly Belly p/b Kenda | 3h17'37 | 2 | Ryan Anderson | Team SpiderTech powered by C10 | + 16 | 3 | Eric Schildge | Jamis - Sutter Home | s.t. | 4 | Jesse Anthony | Kelly Benefit Strategies - Optum Health | s.t. | 5 | Casey Munro | Rapha Condor - Sharp | s.t. | 6 | Kyle Wamsley | Bissell Cycling | s.t. | 7 | James Williamson | Sigma Sport - Specialized | s.t. | 8 | Laszló Bodrogi | Team Type 1 | s.t. | 9 | Matthew Jones | Team Raleigh | s.t. | 10 | Lee Davis | Motorpoint | s.t. | 11 | Charles Wegelius | UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling | + 1'45 | 12 | Johann Tschopp | BMC Racing Team | s.t. | 13 | David Veilleux | Team Europcar | s.t. | 14 | Sérgio Paulinho | Team RadioShack | s.t. | 15 | Sep Vanmarcke | Team Garmin - Cervélo | s.t. |
Final GC:
Rank | Name | Team | Time | 1 | Janez Brajkovic | Team RadioShack | 20h38'20 | 2 | Johann Tschopp | BMC Racing Team | + 1'06 | 3 | Charles Wegelius | UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling | + 1'18 | 4 | Danny Pate | HTC - Highroad | + 1'38 | 5 | Matthew Busche | Team RadioShack | + 2'06 | 6 | David Veilleux | Team Europcar | + 2'09 | 7 | Dan Craven | Rapha Condor - Sharp | + 2'10 | 8 | Eric Schildge | Jamis - Sutter Home | + 2'24 | 9 | Daniel Martin | Team Garmin - Cervélo | + 2'26 | 10 | Lee Davis | Motorpoint | + 2'32 | 11 | Sérgio Paulinho | Team RadioShack | + 2'34 | 12 | Thomas Peterson | Team Garmin - Cervélo | + 2'43 | 13 | Sébastien Rosseler | Team RadioShack | + 2'54 | 14 | Tejay Van Garderen | HTC - Highroad | s.t. | 15 | Taylor Phinney | BMC Racing Team | + 2'57 |
