Is anyone able to explain me what the screen is about? is it a backside cover of the game? How could this be at this time? And what is standing on it?

It should be the backside cover of the game.

I have a few things I'de like to see in PCM 2011; one of them being an easy way to see the major transfers that have taken place during the previous year. If I remember correctly there was a sorta similar feature last year.

I would also like to see some more history. By that I mean more detailed history for all the races in the game. Ofcourse they don't have to be given a nice front page like the history for the three GTs, but I would like to see records for most stage wins in a year, during their career, etc. for all the races.

Since the PCM Daily DB usually includes more races, there could be some form of editor where we could include the history ourselfs.

I echo both these points.

On the whole, I would like to see more development of the managerial side of the game. The game play is already quite good, but some of the most successful sports management games, like the Football Manager series, involve much more in-depth management elements, so that training, youth development, media handling, finances, etc, become much more of a feature of the game.

It would also be great to bring doping into the game, which would make it much more realistic!

I would also love to see them work more on the management side of the game. PCM2010 was more about the graphics and lets face it. The game has been graphic wise fine since 2008 and graphics with shallow gameplay will not keep me interested for long.

I would love to see them revamp the training section. The whole star thing seems stupid. I would rather have something so when you ie. train mountains, you lose TT and flat abilities. In case of stage races rider, the higher potential they have the less they lose and the more they gain or something. I am not a big fan of the whole "cap" of how much a rider can have in stats. Like some can only have 75 out of 85. Might just be me.

The whole scouting section could also need a revamp, same with the finance and goals section, but atleast they are working on the goal section with extra sponsors and jerseys, which is a very nice improvement Smile

Ellingsrud
I think the sprint gameplay needs to improve. The 'Flat' and 'Hill' stats is way too critical. For example:
Even on almost a completely flat stages on only 150 km in for example Tour de France, Tom Boonen( 82 flat, 73 hill, 77 sprint, 76 acc) will crush Andrea Guardini( 71 flat, 61 hill, 79 sprint, 83 acc)! That's stupid on such a flat and short stage( If the stage had been 220km with some hills it would have been okay, cause then Guardini would have been dropped, but when he makes it to the sprint, he should crush Boonen anyway, even if he has much less power left)! When the lead-out begins Guardini loses all his power and is almost standing still in the sprint compared to Boonen which comes in to the final 3km with full power. Even if Guardini had 85 sprint and 85 acc, it would not helped. It's very unrealistic!
Someone who feels the same?

riptorian
Ellingsrud - It is the same deal with Theo Bos a few years back. He was a very fast sprinter but he never made it to the line. If you saw Tour of Turkey Guardini got dropped on speed bumps as someone put it. So the fact that he got not enough stamina and resistance to properly finish a Tour de France stage is very realistic. What I might find a bit unrealistic is that he actually manage to sprint and does not get dropped.

Ellingsrud
My point is that when he first makes it to the sprint, the sprint and acc skill is what should count and not how much power he has left, thats just a minor part of the sprint. I agree that it should be easier to drop him, but when he dont get dropped he should crush almost everyone - in PCM he could lose against someone with 65 in sprint and acc because they have more power left!

riptorian
Imo if you have not much power left in your legs you cannot sprint optimally. A bad sprinter could outsprint cavendish if cavendish have been riding 200 km before reaching the line and the bad sprinter just waited there. To exaggerate it. So I think it is fine and is working as intended. If he barely got any red bar left, he should not be able to sprint to his best skill. Otherwise you negate the whole factor of stamina and resistance.

Yes, agree on all of this.

Two other things I would like to see:

- Director Sportifs: I'd like to be able to appoint Director Sportifs who take charge of the team in races that I choose not to play in 3D. They would have different abilities - the better they are, the better decisions they make 'in-game' in terms of directing the riders. The DS would report back to you on the team during a tour and tell you how each rider has been getting on etc

- 'Holiday mode'. I'd like to be able to go on holiday. During this time, the game runs as normal until I return. This would allow me to avoid clicking through every day from, say, October to December, when there is nothing to do and you just have tediously click through every day. There is a similar function in the Football Manager series

riptorian
About the holiday. You can scroll over to December 31st and then click on that date and then it asks if you want to simulate to this date with or without interruptions. Either should work fine Smile Then just afk for 2 min. Hope this helps.

Brilliant, thanks riptorian! That will be a big help!

@riptorian
Sprint is basically about who has more power in the end, both in real life as well in the game, so very realistic. Of course, in the end of a TdF stage, most sprinters still got plenty of energy left, but get a tougher stage and you'll see it's quite like that.

Btw, in a short flat TdF stage, Boonen should indeed sprint better because as he has 82 of flat while Guardini has 71, Guardini will hurt much more with the very fast speed in the last 15 kms while Boonen not, which means Guardini gets to the sprint much more tired than the other.

Which was exactly my point.

Torsi
I could'nt be more agree with Ellingsrud. It is obvious that sprinters should win the sprint if they are in the peleton at the end. When you play for a while it comes young riders that suck in flat, and are amazing in sprint, but it doesn't matter because flat is wat too important!! YOU REALLY HAVE TO IMPROVE THIS IN PCM 2011!!!!!

lluuiiggii
Correction: flat is not that important, but energy is important. But in the end, flat will prove to be important because the worse the rider is in flat skill, the more tired he'll get to sprint. It's explained a few posts ago.

Ellingsrud
You're right, lluuiiggii! So the thing that need to change is that the riders could sprint better(not normal), but still better than climbers like contador, as they not do, when they have less energy! This applies especially those with 75+ in sprint.

Torsi
Exactly Ellingsrud!! It is rediculous that contador wins a sprint when for example Rojas and Petacchi are still in the peloton! If the sprinters are in the peloton at the end, they should win the sprint even though they have less energy than the climbers.

BouBBox
I agree with you guys, and it should also be better if we could start sprinting earlier in hilly stages ending by 10-20km of flat.
I just played a stage like that, a small peloton of 40 riders arrived for the win and it was possible to follow only 3km from the finish line and to sprint 1km away. I had the best sprinter of that group (Feillu) who was distanced in the hills but I managed to bring him back with my entire team but useless, the guy leading the peloton when the sprint started, won (he had 61 in Sp!). Really upsetting

The stat system today is just too predictable. I think there should be a possibility that a rider can become completely transformed (Wiggins, Gatto) or a climber/sprinter/classics/TT rider with about 70 in the concerning skill make rop performances. If they continue to do so, their skill mat increase with 5-10 points. The same goes for riders performing bad, like a 80 climber finishing in 50-60th place in top form should have a stat decrease. If he again performs well, hos stats should increase again.
