The green dream is over before it even started. Maybe we should keep the lead outs fresh for the sprint and not use them in the chase. And definitely not use Vader as a lead out.

Meh. Not what I wanted, but at least Groves was right there in the mix. The decisive things happened between 1km and 500m to go, where he lost Banaszek's wheel to Van der Lijke, who ended up 4th.
And yeah, never been a fan of narrowing the final kilometers, with my sprinters very, very often getting blocked in the 2nd row this year. Guess they'll just have to learn that positioning is even more important than in the past, and that a position that was perfect last year leads nowhere this year (unless you're lucky to get enough room). Anyway, there will be more chances, hopefully.
Congrats to Tinkoff for the win, but also to Lidl with Larsen showing a stellar sprint here.
Thanks for the report.

Thanks for the start of the Tour, Ulrich! Two tres bien reports so far, thanks for that.
Ganna with a nice win for Xero, whereas Manninen was quite bad most of the year, I'm glad to see his other leaders usually did their job and performed.
And congratulations to Tinkoff on the sprint stage. Seeing Larsen in second (and of course Marin in eight, no super far off) gives me hope for some stage results for us in the sprints as well. Not ideal for the top sprinters here, but purely when looking from a selfish pov I guess it's best for me that the top sprinter teams don't score too much points. Still, hopefully their results improve a bit, for the good of the game!

Argh that's super frustrating to lose yellow instantly. Congrats to Lidl and Larsen.

Congratulations on the win, Oleg! Seeing Larsen in 2nd is obviously a surprise, and also with consequences, seeing he claims yellow too. Seeing the trade deal with Larsen and Peak and both being here, the pressure is on, Peak! Encouraging to see him join the sprint and be fairly well positioned. Hopefully he will continue to contest these sprints, and give us a stream of top 10s.
Thank you for another one, UU! |

Sorry for missing the preview! Obviously we hope for Carthy and Walls to be good here, that's kind of it.
Stage 1: Bad, but expected.
Stage 2: Bad cause Walls sprinted at the intermediate but then just decided to be completely uninvolved at the finish. Hopefully he's back in the lottery soon, and that isn't a trend starting.

The top points going to outsiders might potentially be interesting later on although i kinda doubt that lecuisinier will actually be getting green at any point. But i take that as a positive. On the downside, Silva not sprinting at all is kinda annoying

Congrats to Oleg for the stage and jph for taking yellow!
We had Lapeira in the break, so the stage was a success. In addition nearly all our riders (apart from Boileau) got their positioning right and missed the split to improve their breakaway chances.

Wow, great result from Larsen to take yellow. Given what we ended up with, I haven't been super happy to look back at the transfer that saw him leave over the winter. Still, I'm happy to see him get such a good result for himself and Lidl. Congrats!

Nice to see Rajovic get his token podium
Anymore and he'll start giving me some false hope

Disappointed not to see anything from the awesome train we saw in Qatar. Though the result is not a disaster it sucks to have 0 podiums after 2 sprints.
Crazy to see Banaszek take back to back wins. Congrats, Oleg!

Very happy to be the only team with a lead-out and have our Sprinter barely make the Top 10 twice in a row. A reward for effort would be good at some stage!

Tinkoff domination! Well done to get it right twice in a row. Peak with another sprint. I can’t ask for more, meaning we are happy |

Damn, Walls alert enough to get a point at the intermediate sprint, but then so far back and blocked in that he's still in his saddle in the finale. Rough.

Another "OK-ish, but could be better" result. 3rd 7th place in as many stages, I'd prefer a win and 2 nothing stages
Groves much better positioned now, but launching far too early. Dropping "only" to 7th is better than it could've been, but if Banaszek wins two stages obviously any sprinter could've done the same.
We'll keep on trying, at least Groves is in the mix.
Congrats to Tinkoff again, thanks for the report.

Thank you for another report and the consistency, UU. A great start on the morning to check the report and read it
Everyone outside the top 100 should make us ready to join breakaways on futures stages, I feel
Must admit I had hopes for the white jersey and AHJ seeing the white jersey contenders. Shipping more than 4 minutes on the innocent stages so far this Tour, is kind of sad, as it looks difficult to contend the jersey if this is a theme on the non-GC stages. Fingers crossed it can turnaround.
Congratulations on the win, alex! Good to see Grosu take it |

That's more like it. Grosu really seemed to be determined to win today one way or another.
Good to see Champoussin being aggressive as well. Hopefully he will keep it like that in the big mountain stages as well.

I like the splits on this stage, pushes Lecuisinier up far enough in the GC that another stage like this tomorrow could push him and Haig into the top 3 already which would start the scoring earlier than i suspected.
First sprint attempt by Silva - he was mostly positioned alright in the sprint prep but then lost positioning when it really counted. Thats gotta improve.
Congrats alex, this felt like a Grosu stage, always nice to see it turn out that way for the punchy sprinters.

Well, bad stage.
The whole team in the 2'22 split. Not a single rider ahead, which sucks the most for Cras, who so far was always in group 1. Might give him a bit more room later on to go for KoM/stage I guess, but I had prefered seeing him just go for his own GC without a loss.
Thanks for the report and congrats alexkr for the favourite win. |

I didn't expect my guys to feature on this stage so I'll take a 6th place. I doubt the splits will work to my advantage, so that's probably a downside.
