Yeah, Kragh just can't lose a prologue, even if it looks so at first. Would've been happy to see Phinney prove that SKA can actually be beaten, but it wasn't to be.
Chavanne therefore one spot lower than expected, but I guess with 6.5km pure TT skills had a minor impact as well, and Phinney is obviously vastly superior to Gabby there.
Still, I'm happy to get the first podium spot of the year, and Rekita in 5th place added some points, too.
We also have Darbellay in 17th, bringing himself into position. If he can keep up with the top climbers on the hilly stages, who knows what could be possible...
Congrats to Aker, and thanks for the report!

Good start from Rodrigues. Hopefully he'll keep this form throughout the race.
Congrats on the win, ember! Close call

Solid win by Kragh. Congrats, ember
Don't know what to expect from our team here. We've sent some of our better climbers here, so hopefully they can themselves a bit.

Average result by Eastman, which is good enough, as he's a bad prologue rider of course. From now on it's just important to stay near the front of the peloton. And would be fun to see Marin sprint.
Congratulations ember on the win and roturn on a good start as well. Thank you for the nice report, sean!

While the win would have been nice, 2nd is fine as well. At least shows, Phinney in Tasmania just was off, likely weather impacted in that randomness.
And there is worse to lose s.t. against Kragh Andersen.
Being in that position should also guarantee him to be attentive and well placed.
Thanks fort the report and looking forward to the next. |

Feels unfortunate to loose the GC lead, but big congratulations to liefwarrior! What a stage and final few hundred meters that was for Tryg.
For us, we got Valter safe through, which is great. Worried about his positioning, though. Finishing the stage in 154th is a bad sign for what kind of AI treatment he gets on the upcoming hilly stages, I fear. Fingers crossed I can be proven wrong, as I'm excited to see him ride for his own chances, both stage wise and hopefully also GC wise. |

Walscheid in the screenshot with 800m to go, at 300m nowhere to be seen?

Feels like Sureda did most things right but didnt find a gap to pass through with everyone in one line ahead of him.

4th isn't awful at all, but I was still hoping for a bit more given that Bol was really well positioned for once. But I guess the finish was a bit too easy for his backups to matter, we'll see whether other stages will suit him even better.
Still, that's the 3rd Top 5 in two stages, and if we continue delivering at that level, the top result will eventually be there.
Like ember, worried about my puncheur's positioning, with Schmid seemingly not caring about the GC at all. Darbellay was in the front third, though, around where the other GC riders were, so that might be a good sign. Good thing when you've got multiple potential GC riders - although I really hope that Schmid will at least go for the hilly stages.
Congrats to lief, Rodenberg showing Démare how it's done.

Almost lost Forssell in the crowd there, forgetting he was in the white jersey! Amazing stage for him! First the top 10, and now a top 5 in his first maxed race. Very exciting stuff. Keeps the white jersey and moves into 3rd on points for a day too. It's not huge scoring, but it's honest work. Love to see it from the 25 year old on a 50k contract.
Congrats to lief!

Huzzah! Things are already starting to look up despite a dismal January, with unexpected results around every corner. Great to see that Norsgaard was off to a solid start by making the Top 10 in that prologue and now Rodenberg has come through for a much-needed victory. Clearly we need to place more emphasis on the national focus.
It was nice to see that having a leadout did not prove a detriment to neither Banaszek nor Coutinho, even if the latter did end up somewhat boxed Thank you sean for the report and for bringing us this reprieve.

It's the race for some Danish Dynamite! Great win for Rodenberg - congrats to Tryg
Very nice effort from Van Gestel. Good effort on the sprints along the way, so that's at least good for some points from this race. And clearly on a good day going solo towards the end. Now let's see what the more hilly stages has to offer ..

Nice to see Ronaldo in his first ever break, picking up some nice bonifications along the way. Hopefully we can get stronger riders into the breaks later.
Congrats to Tryg and thanks for the report!

Marin joined the sprint, but just seemed unable to find a way through the thick forest of sprinters ahead and around of him. Sad but that's life. Nice to see Tryg do well after their unlucky January.
Thanks for another nice report, sean!

Not the most ideal sprint for us, hoping that Barguil will be mixing at the front of the third stage before we get to give Coutinho another go at things on stage 4!

A shame the whole mountain squad apart for Eastman lost time, but I guess at least he didn't lose time. Marin chilling as well in that group, guess it was just too hard for him to try sprinting at the end. Nice to see my fellow promotees do well Congratulations jandal!
And thanks for another great report, Sean!

Uff. Plapp not bothering at all is pretty desastruous for the race as i liked his chances a lot more than Eenkhoorn (who also lost time). Now we have to heavily look into the breaks to get at least sth out of this race.
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!
